A more performant server and client, they currently really love single core performance, better concurrency would be great. Though moving from Java probably isn't a viable option due to mods and plugins.

There's Folia, but having an official, performant server is a better option imo.

I don't know, it's probably your instance having issues. Maybe they defederated lemmy.ml and hid the blocklist somehow? When I look it up on defed.xyz it says lemmy.wtf wasnt found.

Nope, voyager opens this in the browser, which means that it's not federated to my instance

I don't think it's a good idea to use SQLModel in a serious project. It's not the best maintained because the only maintainer also maintains FastAPI, so SQLModel is sometimes left for quite a while without meaningful bugfixes.

I'd just use SQLAlchemy
