  • A man I worked with years ago was always telling absurd obvious lies. He lied to the manager that the manager had told him not to do a task. The liar went into details about seeing the boss, and the boss had said XYZ, and the liar had checked details, then the manager etc etc. The story made no sense, and the manager FLIPPED.

  • Crikey what are funeral potatoes?

  • Oh lord that's exhausting I really feel for you

  • Yep it's something that's always happened in subjugated groups. Their identity is stripped from them, purposefully destroyed and they're forced to comply.

  • That's really interesting thanks 😊

  • Ooooh I'd also like to know those things they're good questions

  • I can imagine mate. Most of my straight friends are doing far more than their partners, and have to push him hard to get him to do things. It's really frustrating and the reminders are yet more work... it's also really inconsiderate

  • Hey monument thanks so much for stopping by! You've made a long, insightful comment with some great pointers in. We are women only, so please don't comment again.

However I'm leaving your comment up because I think a lot of members will get a lot from it ❤️

  • I'm here! I help organise and buy supplies

  • You're amazing managing all of that, and I'm glad they have you

  • That's a heavy and constant load. At work you get set hours and clearly defined rules. It's very different caring

  • That's really eye opening thanks, I'd always heard people say Native Americans have low rates of education. And I totally agree with you on having a voice, which is why I'm really glad you've done this post!

How important is tradition in your culture? And how different are other tribes? Just wondering cos Native Americans tend to get lumped together in a group.

  • Thanks so much for writing this! It's great to have an insight into other cultures. I have a few questions...

    1. How rigid are gender roles in your culture?
    2. What's the biggest misconception people have about Native Americans?
    3. You mentioned struggles and strengths, can you name a few?
    4. How important is the idea of tribes in your community?
    5. Do you feel Native Americans have a voice in modern society?
  • I'm single so I've only got my own which helps. I've got a task list on my phone I'm completely avoiding, but this weekend I have sorted batch cooking, bought tickets for a trip, cleaned up, done washing and also done research.

  • Yep! It really doesn't come off me like it used to so it's taken work

  • In a non weird way I just looked through your comment history and I like you. Can I DM you about a community I moderate?

  • Yeah but like, occasionally we make vague statements about being sorry about the genocide. Which makes it fine
