Installed fedora and then used distro box to have arch packages. It's like cheating but I can run packages that aren't in repo without the shit storm of the versioning. Is absurd how aur is so good but base configuration sucks so much 🤣
IBM ha ben poco interesse negli utenti "casalinghi" vuole investire solo per i big. Di conseguenza le "azienducole" che usano Rocky Alma etc. in produzione che switchino a RHEL a Centos Stream o a Windows non frega un benemerito. IBM ha cominciato giá ad estinguere tutti isupporti e i prodotti che non fanno il suo gioco. Dal dismettere LibreOffice perché "difficile da pacchettizzare" (aka il desktop non ci interessa) fino a uccidere prodotti di grande successo quali oVirt (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization) Gluster CentOS etc etc., e che pestano i piedi ad altri prodotti piú costosi e che producono piú "terreno fertile per upselling" (OpenShift RHCOS) in piú dove vede la possibilitá di creare un lock in ha spostato la targhetta da RedHat a IBM direttamente (CEPH).
La direzione é ormai tracciata. Se dovete fare una scelta per un S.O. oggi, puntate a una debian based. Per tutto ció che non ha alternative vere (roba come FreeIPA) tenete una mente aperta e ragionate in termini di modularitá.
Tutto ció che tocca IBM é morto.

IMHO the Power of chromium Is that alone is very spartan. Starting from there you can achieve a ton of flavors from the ultra polished chrome to the overloaded (imho obv.) brave. If Firefox could split the "core" from the "UI" we would have more flavors and more core-centric devs.
I think that the shutdown and private locking of the major subreddits won't stand. Reddit is still in power of doing whatever they like with their site so I expect them to simply takeover the subreddits and reopen up places like r/video. Maybe they will setup bot to keep the subreddits populated of posts and automatically moderated. It will be a bot town with no heart with zombie redditors survivors.
