the gnome design philosophy had been defined for a long time now. it's not just one or two people making gnome like software and forcing people to use their design.

it's people coming together to create user aligned software of you want to mod the heck out of it you can but it always provided a stable base

  • [Rant] I swear to fucking god. Windows is harder to use than Linux. Have any of you ever USED Windows lately? Holy fuck.

  • @SturgiesYrFase reinstall windows... yeah its amazing that even with linux's many distros. the solution is usually achievable compared to Windows that has only one version to maintain but still manages to have parts not working. even with direct vendor support for drivers

I've come to the conclusion that the user friendly part is just plain wrong. how many times have i struggled on Windows with something but managed fine on linux.

of course there are actual things that are more difficult but that's only because so much more is possible with linux.

advanced users wouldn't notice a difference and advanced user appreciate the difference.

No arch is a pain to install it requires you to understand your whole system and can break from the slightest tap.

endeavour is based on arch but a lot of work has been done to ensure that noobs can use it for everyday things. so you are basically using someone elses system.

there is a steep learning curve to have a functioning system. if you spend some time on other distros you can transfer the knowledge you gained over to arch
