The Secret Behind Germany’s Record Renewables Buildout | As most countries struggle to install clean energy fast enough, Germany tackled the industry’s toughest problem: slow permitting.
  • Not economically viable to build new, yes. But to run existing ones until they need major renovations?

Like they already built the damn things. It would be wasteful to just shut them down, especially if replaced with coal and gas.

Or could you provide me with some sources on why running existing nuclear plants is too expensive?

  • The unpleasantness of mosquito bites is not something useful for mosquitoes, but it *is* useful for the ones who suffer it
  • Well the point is that people who had a bad reaction to mosquito bites tend to avoid getting them. Therefore they tend to live longer because they also happen to avoid the diseases, live longer and have more babies. They don't need to understand anything.

The point is that the itching evolved because it could be beneficial for us. The bites are not unpleasant in themselves as you say. They are unpleasant because we evolved to feel them unpleasant. It is the same as sex being pleasant. It is that way because it is beneficial.

  • History repeats itself
  • Correlation is not causation. There is currently no definitive proof of anything. It sure as hell is not good for us. But I'll take the plastic over the lead poisoning every day.

I'm just saying one is acutely more dangerous.

Edit: while I have not watched the entire video, she even says the studies are incredibly small. You can not say shit if you test less than 20 people. These small studies' results may point to a larger study being interesting to do, but nothing else.
