  • Interesting shot. I kind of passed by Dublin Castle when I visited back a few years ago but didn't have the chance to visit. Do you know if those paths are something special? They remind me of meditation labyrinth.

  • It's carrying 8 bags of groceries, through the front door, into the kitchen, all on one trip.

  • With only life to live, I may have to wait 20 years when situations are different. I do appreciate the info!

  • I can't say Uzbekistan is high on my to-travel list, but with architecture like this, perhaps I should reconsider!

  • Interesting. I guess it could be a mess with people losing drones in high up places or whacking other people enjoying the area. Either way, I too appreciate getting these rare angles.

  • That's the thing, for this particular island, per the link:

in 2010 George Clooney tried to buy the island for his then-girlfriend Sardinian beauty Elisabetta Canalis. Apparently the owner, who remains anonymous, said he was too attached to the lake and the island to EVER consider ANY offers. If Clooney himself couldn’t hit on the right price, what chance do us mere mortals have?

  • Yeah, this one was tough too. I know next to nothing about Georgia but became kind of fascinated by it after hearing Trio Mandili https://youtu.be/EDK9KOfknTw and reading up on how isolated it is while being in the middle of everything.

  • Very cool. I have to admit ignorance on this, but I wonder if there's a term for having a dry "moat" that's just flat land like we see here. Makes exploring fun, either way.

  • I checked and I didn't get anything when I tried to visit. That was the case for most of the ones I tried.

  • I might have investigated more had I known I was the future mod of a castles community. ;)

  • Very cool. Cross-posted to !castles@lemm.ee, where you can find more ancient structures.

  • Yeah, just muscle memory was there to go to reddit for about a week. I still kind of lament how easy it was to type "redd" with my left hand and the click it on the url bar.

  • I think the Sacred Tear is just at the end.

  • I'm trying to look it up on the web, but I'm having trouble finding the reference. Care to share?

  • Hey, I know this place isn't as busy as some others with questions like "Who would win: Namek Freiza or SSJ3 Gotenks???", but I thank you for posting stuff like this.

  • I just found this too: https://www.castles.nl/ It has interactive maps, but some are very sparse (Germany's count is laughable).
