For those that had Chicago Hounds season tickets last year, check your email

IMO, they didn't do the ticket renewal process very well. If you had more than one ticket last year, you got more than one email, each email linking to their payment vendor separately.

In other words, unless I missed something, I had to pay two times - one time for each season ticket in 2024.

Good part is that they linked the tickets with Google and Apple wallets.

Doesn't look like they added the free parking like last year though. Again, I might have missed it.

Android helps Apple "Get the Message"

I'm not a fan of the "war" between Android and Apple when it comes to SMS/texting. The rest of the world doesn't use SMS/RCS/iMessage as much as WhatsApp and the like, so the US is pretty much lagging behind everyone else on this anyway.

That being said, I have to admit Android did a good job with this!

Transition to Lake Michigan Water delayed until October 8th

Looks like they are having some issues with some equipment - I'm turning the water softener back on then - amazing how many more water spots appear when the softener is bypassed. :-)

Lake Michigan water is coming to Waukesha very soon!

The 20-year, $300 million project is in its final stages, with a likely transition date approaching.

I'm personally trying to decide on what to do with my water softener. Part of me wants to flip the switch and bypass it, at least temporarily.

Wisconsin Supreme Court chief justice accuses liberal majority of staging ‘coup’
  • I don't know if the new majority broke the rules or not. I'm not a lawyer nor a judge. Chief Justice Ziegler may have a point but it doesn't help when she does her disagreement through the public lens.

For as much as I am happy that Protasiewicz won the election, I am not happy with how the election was run. Instead of it being an election for a judge, it was made to be an election for a politician (on both sides) who gets to wear a judge's robe for a very long time.

Anyone who can put two brain cells together can understand that a judge will lean certain ways based on their own ideology, but impartial conduct is crucial to a well maintained judiciary.

This is how coups start; this is how coups get justified. Delegitimizing our court system is exactly what some on the extreme political left and right want. Putin and Xi are allowed their power because they put their people in the right political positions AND their people in the right judicial positions. Trump tried to do the same thing, and right now is banking on it for 2024.

Wehr Nature Center sponsored a nature walk for veterans last evening. Wife and I had a really good time, and was able to take a few nice pictures. This was my favorite.

They have another one this afternoon at 3 PM CT specifically for veterans and their kids if you are interested.

  • Conspiratorial election denial bad for business pillow guy learns; GOP does damage control
  • Trump has always lived the motto of never admitting to the "con". He thrived with that motto through the mafia/casino unions in New Jersey, the mafia/hotel unions in New York, and the mafia/TV unions on his reality show. His timing in 2016 was perfect, as more people voted against Hillary than voted for him. And once he became president, he knew that any politician in his same party was bound to bite their tongue unless the Speaker or the Minority/Majority Leader spoke about it first (which didn't happen often).

As long as his followers forget what he did then, he'll continue to have his followers now. Everyone else supporting him is using him for their own political or monetary agenda, and vice-versa.

Throw in a 24-hour news cycle where the term "news" is vaguely defined, where opinions don't have to be debated, and people like Trump get airtime and continue to thrive. For some reason, people with money are treated as if they are smarter and wiser - even in a country where most people still believe in God, go to church on Sunday, and where Jesus is considered the wisest human being of all - but poor.
