I'm originally from the Midwest and was living in Virginia when it snowed about a foot overnight. Looked like nothing to me, but I didn't realize the infrastructure back home was much more capable of handling snow.
Plows and salt trucks were out any time it snowed and the streets would always be cleared by the morning. The only time we ever canceled school was for very cold temps (-20 F or so) and for heavy snow that outpaced the snow plows.
The foot of snow in Virginia caused the entire area shut down because they couldn't handle it as well.
I was for a while. Hosted a LOT of stuff on an i5-4690K overclocked to hell and back. It did its job great until I replaced it.
Now my servers don't lag anymore.
EDIT: CPU usage was almost always at max. I was just redlining that thing for ~3 years. Cooling was a beefy Noctua air cooler so it stayed at ~60 C. An absolute power house.
You could put together a dish of some kind that she can just toss in the oven to cook. People often neglect to eat when mourning because they have a lot going on.
Easy ones are lasagna or baked potatoes or casseroles.
I did something similar recently and found it was an easy drop-in situation... so you'll likely be okay.
I upgraded my CPU on my debian server. Went from i5-4690K and RX 480 to just an i5-12600K.
I could see a potential issue if the WiFi card is different and you're not hard wired.
