  • That’s just not logical man, because first of all it’s the entire basis of the banking system. Money creates money, and your investment in the stock market is essentially similar to a loan offered by a bank. The money you spent buying the stock allows the company to invest more in the business, and you get increased stock value for your trouble.

Maybe you want to be more specific about what you mean by “value”, but it was valuable for me to be able to buy a house without having to pay for it all up front, for example.

You even acknowledge that we workers are forced to be accomplices in this scam, chasing our breadcrumbs. Why would you denigrate those who participate in the system because we have literally no other choice? What is your point? Should I boycott the stock market in the hopes that some oligarch notices?

  • No, the entire system is built on exploitation of workers. As a worker in the system, I’m talking about how to scrape a life out the best you can.

It’s objectively better to put your money that you want you save and possibly grow in an index fund, if you live in the us.

  • I’ll say this, keep solar as a backup, or way overbuild what you need on turbines. Low power, causing pump jacks and steam generation to slow, can cause a negative feedback loop and crash your power!

  • It would seem to do that, yes. You don’t even have to be abroad, as you could easily be stationed in a different state from your “home” residence.

This has no effect on federal elections of course, and so I think it’s not that unreasonable to say that you only get to vote on local issues if you are living locally.

  • Who said “things are good actually”?? Seems to me that Harris had plenty of policy proposals that would have resulted in a meaningful improvement to the bottom line of the average American.

Biden has also been better for the average American than trump was. For fucks sake, Trump actually got away with raising taxes on all of us to support his tax cut for the rich, simply because the average person is too low information to grasp the idea of a tax cut that expires!

So yeah, plenty of actual reasons to say that one candidate is better than the other, without needing to be wowed by an actual messiah who can dismantle our fucked up system and solve everybody’s problems.
