I decided to go with Plex because I can use it from my roku TVs and my game consoles. I let a few friends and family members log in as well to stream and they're primarily doing it from game consoles. Most of those people don't even have a desktop PC. Granted, I don't know what features in that ballpark that Jellyfin may have now, I set this up a long time ago and just haven't really given it much thought since then.

I still remember watching the OC back in high school and seeing them play a Playstation game with an Xbox controller. I think about it sometimes.

One of our friends is a real-estate agent and she said the same thing. It's not going to age well and in 10-15 years people are going to be buying these houses and ripping all that shit out.

That, and the build quality on these new houses is sometimes astoundingly poor. My friend had a house built 2 years ago and he's had nothing but problems with shit breaking. My house was built in 1906 and while that comes with a different set of issues, it's not falling apart like these modern luxury shitboxes seem to. It's survived tornados, floods, and tons of other shit weather that living in the midwest brings, but it still stands strong.

But in regards to this article....the farmhouse shit is so fucking ugly. I live in a city and sometimes see people doing the farmhouse thing and it doesn't fit at all. My friend put a sliding barn door on his bathrooms and the damn things don't even close all the way, you can see right in through the crack where a normal door would seal. Lots of rooster-themed stuff in the kitchen and I'm just like....bud you've got a lot of cocks in your kitchen.

The above is like, just my opinion, man, if people reading this like the farmhouse stuff, hey it's your house, you do you.

I played about 10 hours of it but I never finished. I like Chained Echoes a lot more tbh.

I came across one earlier that was about as low quality as it gets. It was a thread about some big car accident and the only reply was "/c/fuckcars". No commentary on the actual article, no attempt at starting any actual discussion, just a pithy one liner that serves no purpose other than grabbing some upvotes and killing any chance of discussion. I still haven't seen TOO much of that yet but I find it weird that someone would make the effort to come to the fedi just to do the same low effort shit they were doing on Reddit. It's disappointing but at the same time, my short time on the fedi has been filled with far more actual conversation than most of my time on Reddit was.

I decided to come home during summer break during my senior year of college. I wasn't going to but I decided I should do something besides sitting around playing video games. I got in the car, drove for 4 hours, and got a call from my best friend that he was having some people over that night. I almost didn't go because I was tired from the drive. I decided to go. I knew everyone there, including a girl I had been friends with for years but hadn't seen in awhile. We were all hanging out, me and this girl ended up hooking up that night. We've been together over 12 years, married for 6. If I had decided to stay at my apartment and play Skyrim instead of driving home, we very likely wouldn't be together. I think about it more than I should lol.

I wish I could like this style of game because everything about them speaks to me, but I'm so damn bad at them. I made it about 2 hours into Divinity Original Sin 2 before getting stuck. Are there any games in this genre that are on the easier side for newbies?

I do the crunch wrap with beans instead of meat and I'm not a vegetarian by any stretch, is just so much better that way IMO. The spicy potato taco is also one of my favorites.

I can make my chat bubbles be whatever color I want. My brother-in-law sometimes gives me lighthearted shit for being the green bubble or whatever in the chat but like, hey man you're the one who put yourself in a walled garden, I don't see it on my end.

I'd look at Telltale-style games. They're roughly 10 hours each ( five 2-hour ish episodes) and are almost entirely story driven. The gameplay is usually very simple. You choose dialogue choices to drive the story.

The best Telltale games are in my opinion: The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, The Walking Dead, Batman: The Telltale Series and its sequel, Batman: The Enemy Within. They're also releasing the first episode of The Expanse (based on the TV show since the character Camina Drummer does not exist in the books) later this month.

Another series that is very much that same style but by different devs is the Life is Strange series. I've played the first one and the prequel called Before the Storm. They are very emotionally heavy stories so I'm taking some time before I can go into the sequels but I absolutely love that series and will preach it to anyone who will listen.

10 hours is definitely short but it also helps that they are all done in 2-hour episodes so you can easily take breaks.

That's crazy. Kinda reminds me of this crazy mosaic house we have in St. Louis. I frequent the bar that it was inspired by.

I never see anyone talk about Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch but it's one of my favorite games of all time. The Studio Ghibli collab makes it ooze charm.

It still blows my mind when I go to a brewery on a fuckin weeknight and there are kids everywhere at 9 pm. I don't get it.

OOoo I haven't tried that, I'll do that next time.

And if it's steak especially, leave it out for a half hour to get closer to room temp before cooking.
