  • 16 bit RPGS. Not a genre I'm typically a fan of, but I'm playing Chained Echoes on Steam Deck and now I can't get enough and I'm sitting here waiting impatiently for Sea of Stars.

  • I've been on a posting spree today as I find and sub to magazines (kbin and federated) that interest me. Onward and upward.

  • I'm on kbin but yeah, I plan to stay. Most of what I saw on Reddit wasn't even relevant to my interests because their algorithms kept pushing random shit at me. I'm happy to really tailor my own experience here. Goodbye, my 80k karma

  • A good Italian sub is the tastiest thing on the planet. Every place might do it a little differently but it's the basis on which I judge any sandwich shop.

  • My local city subreddit, r/stlouis. The fediverse channels for it are dead but hopefully that will change. Also r/personalfinance

  • Customization and the app drawer. Any time I have to use my wife's iphone I can't stand how many folders are all over the place to house the apps. Baffling design. I have a custom launcher which means I also set up gestures to open certain apps. Swipe up for Discord, down for fantasy hockey, two finger counterclockwise turn for Goodreads, two finger down swipe for Roku remote, etc. I also have custom icon packs.

  • I'm having the same issue, I'm going to assume it's a bug but I'm not sure where to report it. I'm boosting the thread for visibility in the meantime.

  • I'm using kbin via a Firefox PWA.

  • Jade Empire. I'd love a new one but I'd take a remake at this point. Such an excellent, peak-Bioware game.

  • Tape to Tape. It's a new indie roguelike hockey game. I don't play many indies but the devs are attentive and I have been loving it.

  • Wow this looks awesome, I've been missing Battlefield something fierce after I fell off of 2049 real hard when I recently tried it. This could definitely pull me back in.

  • I also hope it stays that way, but it's definitely nice being in "at the ground floor" so that I can block Magazines that I have no interest in, that way the rage bait will never make it to me. I do sub to some news mags because I prefer to get my news in this format so I'm bound to see some, but that's the price of trying to be informed. It'll be nice not to have the usual rage bait right on the top of the popular feed, like antiwork, AITA, and a ton of others that were clearly full of writing prompts just to rile people up and garner a specific type of reaction. My front page looks pretty nice right now but I'm excited to see some more content as kbin grows.

  • 100%. Charge me what you think is a fair price for your content and I'll pay for it if I also agree that it's a fair price. I prefer to pay for a full game, and then pay for actual expansions. I will not buy a battlepass or pay for microtransactions, no matter what. Funny enough, if a game is free, I usually immediately write it off as likely MTX-filled nonsense, but if they throw a $70 price tag on it and don't add MTX, I'm more likely to play it. Maybe I'm just getting old, lol.

  • I have -2 even though I have plenty of upvotes. I am aware now that downvotes give you negative rep but upvotes don't give you positive. I have no idea if that's being worked on or not but the system is definitely a little confusing, especially for those of us who came from Reddit.

  • That reveal prompted me to finally go install Dark Arisen. I've put about an hour into it but haven't reached the main city yet. Decided to start as a Strider, no idea if I'll stick to that.

  • Someone in another thread here said mentioning Lemmy got them a shadowban

  • So the Now for Reddit creator says he's been flat-out ignored for 3 months and he's panicking, he doesn't want to lose 10 years of work. Spez replies "Apologies for the delay. We are responding now.

If others have apps they would like to be considered for the paid API tier, please reach out here and select “This is a partnership request.”

The sheer incompetence of this man, holy shit.

  • I'm shocked that any lawyer would say "yeah, go ahead, this AMA is a great idea"

  • This guy is such a weasel, holy shit. He comes off as incredibly bitter.

  • I was surprised how much I enjoyed the monster catching systems and subsequently the battle system in Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. So much so, that I got the platinum trophy in both the PS3 and PS4 versions. I loved that the battles were technically in real time but with cooldowns for each character and their familiars, and I appreciated that the characters (3 of them) are on the battlefield WITH the familiars rather than either/or. This meant I could deal some damage to exploit enemy weakness using the main characters while some of the familiars tanked damage and all that. It wasn't perfect but it really resonated with me.
