Who here is still on X, formerly Twitter?

Pretty much the title. If you are, why do you remain on a platform that has become such a dumpster-fire of mis- and dis-information?

    Fedora or Pop!_OS?
  • I have used many Linux distros, Old-school RedHat (floppy days) Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint, etc. I used to like messing around with the kernel and configs, etc. Now I just want something that works so that I can get to work. I installed Pop_OS on an old Microsoft Surface about 3 weeks ago and I have been very impressed. It was simple to install, has a pleasing interface design, and no bloat software. I'm going to keep using it for my desktop and highly recommend it.

  • So where are we all supposed to go now?
  • I'm on discord but not for the sociability so much. However, there are some hyper specific subjects that get served up there. Personally, I find it very chaotic.

How many of you are still working full-time remote and how is it going? If not, why not? Was the decision made by you to go back to the office or did your employer decide for you?

  • I'm with @kestel7, that sounds really shitty. I hope things get better for you. Even if you get another remote job maybe you can make enough to go to a shared workspace.

  • Nice! One of my first jobs in HS was working for a small, family-run machine shop. I got all the messy clean up jobs but liked the work overall.

I am still working full-time remote. There are definitely some social aspects of going to the office I miss, but I really don't miss the commute or the shitty office politics. Overall I feel I am still more productive from home and happier overall.

How are you getting the links to stories in the title?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but it pretty much says it all in the title. I've read a few guides but they don't seem to answer my questions about posting. I quit Facebook and Twitter over 10 years ago and this is my first social media account since then.
