You got the right idea. Just push that to the side and push the 1.5 side up the smaller pipe then slide it back down over the four inch. It'll move. If its truly unable to swing side to side you may need an additional 1.5 Fernco cplg. cut the pipe a foot above. Slip the ferncos over everything as described above and put it in place and slide everything back over the existing pipes. You may want to mark the half the length of the slip cplg so you get it even on both sides.

Not an expert nor have I got my monkeys off my back but I would like to say watch out for this type of thinking. I have heard that addiction can be genetic but what is empowering is the opposite is true about how our minds can change once we have changed our situations. I'm referring to something called the elasticity of the mind. And I don't just mean metaphysically. This is a measured change in the brain. So if you are looking for positive affirmations to keep you going this is a difficult one to realize because you do not even yet know how different you can be. You may consider keeping a 12"x12" square of 3/4 plywood or something with your kit to create a somewhat sturdy footing for any jack you choose. Can also come in handy if stuck in snow or mud
