California is cool, I just don't like LA. It's dirty, crowded, has traffic 24/7, and everything is expensive just to name a few reasons.
I think they spend a lot of their time holding back a wall of crap from falling on all of us. Unmoderated forums are so bad.
No experience at all, I heard about it first in a Reddit thread about alternatives.
Some weird foods this year. I'm not into the gator stuff, they taste gross and I have no idea what the appeal is. Or the spicy iced drinks and ice cream. Beer Cheese Wisconsin Lava Cake sounds yummers though. The various bubble waffles also look good.
They banned you for vote manipulation? What did you do?
I can't even find RIF on the app store anymore, did they take it down?
Ahhh, I'm not sure if I should let that addiction back in!
I feel the same way. It was weird breaking the habit of clicking the RiF app when I unlock my screen, but after a while the need just went away.
I slowed down when the announcement was made about third party apps. I quit entirely when RIF turned off. Now I participate here, started my own community, contribute to others as much as I can, and finally figured out how to host my own instance. It's been fun seeing it grow slowly.
All cargo shorts all the time. And cargo shirts, cargo socks, cargo shoes, cargo boxers.
Yeah I saw that community, but I didn't see anything going on there for 1e. I'll keep posting here for now, but if that community starts to grow 1e content maybe I'll switch.
Hi, thanks I've been trying to build this community out starting with a few articles and reviews. I haven't gotten much participation yet but I'm hoping more people join over time. Do you play 1e or 2e?
Asteroid 2018 NW has a diameter of around 16 meters, which is around as much as 100 hot dogs. But hold onto your buns because it isn't going to hit us – though it may fly close.

I use the Feeder Android app, it's simple and easy to get set up.
I've heard the Expanse books are great, I watched the Amazon series already. Are the books even better?
I really enjoyed The Hyperion Cantos, and the first few Dune books I read a long time ago (may reread these now). Can anyone recommend some other books (or series) along these lines? Huge stories on an epic scale, space battles, cool future tech, etc.
A model known as ConPLex can predict whether potential drug molecules will interact with specific protein targets, without having to perform the computationally intensive calculation of the molecules’ structures.

Very cool application of LLM to screen potential protein-drug interactions.
Asteroid 488453 (1994 XD) is as wide as 830 meters, according to NASA. However, it is in no danger of hitting the Earth.

That's rad, how do they work?
I've fully committed to replacing reddit in my life, I'm trying to be active here and pointing people to Lemmy when I can. Reddit has made it clear they dont care about users. they get content for free, moderation for free, etc. They pissed on their base and deserve a mass exodus. I just hope people follow through.
Pretty cool demo

Lesswrong has been posting about AI doom for quite some time, they have a lot of good reads. https://www.lesswrong.com/
Interesting article, I wonder how much longer new language models will be detectable like this.
