Teaching Programming with BASIC
  • This is my childhood! That and Logo Writer were the gateway to my future.

I worked with a buddy; one of us would read from the code listing in the magazine and the other would type. We didn't know the names of some of the symbols so we made up our own names. Tilde will always be the 'squiggly' to me.

  • Wireless earbuds for steam deck?
  • Headphones that support AptX LL made a big difference for me. I picked up a cheap set on Amazon that work well but they have really terrible battery life. I may replace them now that I know AptX LL works pretty well.

I tried several other pairs that only supported SBC and AAC and the latency was irritating, even for the slow paced games I play (like Powerwash Simulator).

Edit: This is the pair I got, they've released a new model so maybe it's improved but I certainly don't get 20 hrs on a charge.

My ears won't hold any earbuds in so I chose the around the neck style. They still fall out.

  • Firewatch blank screen on launch
  • By chance It Takes Two decided it would not start shortly after this post. I tossed in the log command and it got my log file. lol. 8 can't make yeada nor tails of it.

I verified files, rebooted several times, change proton versions and nothing worked.

On a whim I launched it in desktop mode and it fired up. And it now launches in game mode as well.

I love the SD but it is so temperamental!

  • Firewatch blank screen on launch
  • I occasionally have a game that suddenly won't launch. You can try verifying the files.

Usually I have to restart, even if I just powered up the SD. Sometimes launching another game (like some simple platformer) then exiting and starting up the game will work.

I wish there were some easier way to see logs or output from failed launches.

  • looking for something specific
  • Games I might class similar to rummikub are Upwords and Quiddler (although both are word forming games)

King Domino is a tile laying game that makes me think of Rummikub. The tiles use landscape regions to score that you select each round and try to lay out in a grid to form a "kingdom". Each tile connects with other tiles to make regions that score for size.
