  • Hehe, any kind of ricing can be taken too far.

Funnily enough I recently switched from WM's to DE (and KDE plasma at that) so that I don't spend entire days adjusting making pointless window border customization and autostart scripts that are already taken care of by a Desktop environment.

That said, I cant live without my keybinds so I've replicated the same on my Plasma setup.

  • I believe there is an add on called "Tab stash" or something like that on firefox. It stashes tabs so that the use can restore them later.

It's been some time since I last used it. seeing your comment just reminded me of it. Thanks

  • You can try Floorp browser (based on firefox) it hides the default tab bar and looks similar to vivaldi browser.

Also it has tree style tabs built in, you just have to enable it.

  • I only see an option to open the player in a new window. I didn't see anything related to external players.

One thing I could try is to run stremio and mpv on a distrobox Archlinux container and see of it does the job.

Edit: can confirm that running stremio in an arch distrobox does work.

  • As someone from India, I agree with you.

I guess people just want to use what everyone else uses. Using something different than windows is instantly assumed to be very difficult.

I even showed my friends how they can play games on linux instead of having their laptops get stuck while using windows 11 , but they still won't even consider trying it.

Btw if you don't mind - do you play apex legends ? (Judging by your username)

  • Hi, sorry for not responding sooner.

I tried adding the udev rule and a kernel parameter but I'm still getting black screen as soon as I log in to any DE / WM.

The display comes back after a few seconds only to return to the black screen when I move or click my mouse.

  • A few days ago I started using NixOS as my daily driver. I am yet to understand how to use home-manager and the nix language but right now I'm good with the main configuration.nix and fleek.

  • I don't think so. As long as you are not in some shady third party fork, you will be okay.

I have been using telegram forks for some time now, never encountered a ban or anything like that.

  • Extergaram is pretty good. I have been using it for about 4 months now. I feel like this is the best fork I've tried.

Previously I have tried Nekogram X and for a very short while Forkgram

  • I wish there was an active philosophy community on lemmy. I kinda miss r/Askphilosophy and r/askhistorians.

And to answer your question -

I don't really know. I guess people belive in souls so as to eternalize themselves and thereby reducing their fear of death, knowing that their soul will be out somewhere instead of the idea that they will return to a state of nothing.

  • Hey thanks !

FYI the panel configuration is in "$HOME/.config/ xfce4/panel/" if I remember correctly

  • Hi OP. Really awesome XFCE rice.

Would you mind sharing the xfce panel. Also what icons are those ?

  • For amd gpus you may want to take a look at amdgpu_top

  • Do yourself a favour and try opensuse tumbleweed. You won't regret it.

Also even on arch things doesn't break unless the user installs a whole lot of stuff from the AUR. Since there are flatpaks around most people can get their day to day apps working without relying on community repos.

  • Here are some of my favourite apps

    1. Droidify - fdroid frontend
    2. Newpipe x Sponsorblock - Youtube
    3. Mihon / Kotatsu - Manga
    4. URLCheck - set as default browser to be able to open up links in your preffered browser
    5. Fennec - Firefox fork
  • I like MJ PDF its also kind of minimal compared to other readers.

  • I have a similar issue but for me the black screen comes at random times when I open, close or move my windows or mouse.

I found a temporary fix for it by checking out the archwiki amdgpu page

But it still occurs , especially when I wake up my computer after suspending it.

  • Hi thanks for commenting. I actually considered the ZSN pro before I bought my QKZ x HBB. I went with the QKZ as I've never tried Bad Guy Good Audio's tuning before.

I initially bought it for gaming, but found myself using it more than the BLON Actually I liked it better than my BLON BL03. Plus I got the thing for much less than the BLON iem.

That aside, what iem would you recommend for $50 ?

P.S : please also suggest an affordable Bluetooth transceiver. I know KZ has one but I don't know if it's available in my region.
