I don't see how that's helpful at all. What does that do? At best get some validation?

I just happen to be particularly unskilled at convincing others and I can get riled up easily when someone needlessly tries to bully me. That shouldn't qualify me for the treatment I've received here on Lemmy, but that's not how it's worked out.

I hate this place.

Since sdf is federated with dbzer0, then how is it safe from the dbzer0 mob? As you can see, lemmy.world/support was not safe either.

I wasn't necessarily referring only to the specific circumstance. I was also pointing out the flaw in the logic of "only democracy".

Again, my point was that a common feedback loop and/or an alignment of a person's toxicity can easily protect someone from justice. Similar to what is happening to the US political parties, particularly the Republican party. Plenty of people align and agree with what is happening and thus it is allowed to continue and even escalate.

As long as someone can paint a better picture and have a following to support then, then a person can get away with seemingly anything at dbzer0. Just gotta get those votes from the people willing and able to participate during the voting period.

So, obvious harassment and toxicity needs to be put to a vote for any action to be taken? Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree on that one.

Maybe not, depending on if people already made up their mind to side with that person or against me, then yeah it won't serve me much.

They were very clearly being needlessly antagonistic and accusatory towards someone who was trying to defend others being harassed and help get rid of a horribly toxic user.

The start of it makes no sense, either. Why would I have known at all about some other alts being banned from dbzer0 when I had blocked the instance a long time ago? No one brought that up at all nor does it matter in the context of the issue at hand.

Honestly, if that's not obvious and someone thinks that comment is fine, then that is a perfect example of why I'm starting to hate Lemmy.

So, if there is a feedback loop where if dbzer0 users are ultimately okay with an admin harassing people, then the toxicity can persist? As long as they can convince others with lies then the admin can get away with it? That "tend to" in my quote seems to be doing some real heavy lifting, from my perspective.

The interpretation of those two jumping in to be rude as hell is not exclusive from acknowledging disagreements in the past. Particularly in that is already implied with my original comment there as I referenced my experience.

There was absolutely no reason for those two to act that way there, even if their intention was to attempt to point out that they think I was in the wrong in the previous encounters. "I think you were the one in the wrong at those times you're referring to." Or something along those lines accomplishes the same goal without being an asshole or making clearly false claims.

Ironically, their choice to be such assholes in that circumstance adds quite a bit of evidence that the dbzer0 people were the ones in the wrong.

Actually, your links provide proof of the lies as well. That was when I blocked the dbzer0 instance, as I mentioned in those threads, and that was 3 months ago. So, how could I have been "constantly trolling in [dbzer0's] comms" as Flatworm/Unruffled claimed? That's exactly the kind of shit that I'm talking about. These admins, as well as some mods and users, are willing to straight up lie. And since they are admins, users have a tendency to just believe them and not even bother looking into things themselves.

My comment made no claims regarding the user from the main post or actions against them, it was only in regard to the claim about db0. That's why I explained that the only context has to do with that first comment thread.

I was not rude at all, just that I disagreed. Why does that mean it's okay for those two to jump in to rudely make false claims?

The real context is that I was merely disagreeing with db0 being chill based on my own experience. Flatworm/Unruffled and Eugene then busted in being rude as hell for just disagreeing. You supported that behavior.

dbzer0, actually. I literally just had a recent encounter with the admin Flatworm/Unruffled where they decided to needlessly pick a fight. They were backed up by other dbzer0 users, including @Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com, in fact.

I was under the impression that they only did that when they were low on nutrients or something.

I don't expect perfection from anywhere. But yeah, nowhere better to go is kinda the main issue. I feel trapped and surrounded.

It's more than a few. It's several admins, a handful of their followers, nearly an entire instance's users (even after blocking it), prolific posters that mod dozens of comms and people will rally behind them regardless of how much of an asshole they are being to you, and even one user in particular that was banned but is now hiding under a new account.

It's also partly how the platform works which feeds the most toxic users. It's how the platform seems to entice people into stricter tribalistic behavior than other platforms. Say anything that might be construed as negative towards one of the many things these groups base their entire identity on and you get swarmed by them and you can't even defend yourself. You get downvoted to hell and they get upvoted for being assholes by their other cult-like followers. Not that votes "matter", but it just makes it feel shitty when someone decides to be an asshole to you and they get supported for it while trying to defend yourself only gets more people against you.

There's more, but trying to describe it all is making me feel worse.

This place sucks. It's absolutely awful that I feel this is actually true, but reddit was better than this.

I wish I felt the same way, but other users are making it frustrating and draining. I'm contemplating leaving. But, I don't know of anything similar to browse, other than Reddit and I refuse to use their app or pay a subscription for another.

Let's analyze this encounter here to show how you and your like really like to act.

1. Someone says "x person is chill".
2. I respond pretty simply "That has not been my experience at all"
   • That is putting it nicely, even. Just simply disagreeing based on actual experiences with them.
3. You reply with a needlessly rude response making wild claims with no proof or evidence.
   • Trying to start shit, as your cult fam puts it. No chill.
4. My response
   • I start off by rebuffing your attempt at an insult. Again, you're needlessly
   • Then I point out very simply that your claims already fall flat as soon as you but any effort into thinking about your claims.
   • I follow up with an explanation of my position with my experience and reasoning behind it.
5. You double-down on trying to start shit. Clearly attempting to escalate.
6. You triple-down with an objectively childish response of some sort of image of a baby. The irony is unbelievably hilarious. This message was such an asshole move that the mod removed it.

Based on this alone, you have already established that you are the asshole here.

But let's take a little walk down this road a bit and analyze this further.

Your whole position is that you are allowed to be a childish asshole to me because I make comments about my frustration with AI slop. First, it's really only occasionally when I make a few comments here and there about AI slop, and many times it's literally because the AI slop has been posted in a community that explicitly forbids it — I'm such an asshole for that! But, let's assume my intention is to be annoying about it and bother people by basically saying "ugh more AI slop", is that really a good reason to act like you have been here, let alone fucking everywhere I go where you seem to not stop harassing me about having a fucking different opinion than you?

The simple fact is: I just don't like AI the same way you and other people do and it can be very frustrating at times. There is not some sort of shadow cabal with the sole purpose of following around AI users and working together to mob and brigade AI communities. That's much closer to what you and many dbzer0 users are actually doing(examples: [1], [2], I had more easy links but I can't link to them due to being deleted because a user was banned or the mods removed them). The claims of brigades is literally just because of a coincidence due to the fact there are a significant amount of people who are frustrated by AI. That's the simplest and most straightforward explanation that you and others are conveniently ignoring.

Additionally, there are plenty of valid and reasonable reasons to have issues with AI, to list only some of them:

• The fact it's exponentially adding to the enshitification of nearly everything by being shoved into products and services that don't need it and driving up the costs of services with no way of declining and keeping things as they were at the same cost
• Being used as a weapon of misinformation and disinformation
• Pushing the dead internet theory closer and closer to a full-blown reality
• The profiting off other people's work by plagiarism, copyright infringement, and maliciously scraping content creating a strain on people's resources that they have to pay for
• People unintentionally spreading misinformation and disinformation by because AI generated content was not explicitly tagged as such
• Corporations using it to make fucked up decisions that would not have been an option without it
• The constant overhype and mischaracterization of its capabilities
• The fact it's fucking everywhere and so much so there is literally nowhere you can go without AI having corrupted it somehow

And yet, you think it's okay to go around acting like a wad of rotting dick cheese to people because they don't agree with your perspective on AI because "omg people won't stop saying they don't like AI!". Come-fucking-on.

I'm so fucking tired of you and the other dbzer0 nutbags.
