I recently finished playing Breath of the Wild and declared it as one of my favorite games ever played. I just started Tears of the Kingdom, and it feels like I may not go back to BOTW, which is crazy that I could consider it one the best experiences ever, and also feel like I may never play it again so shortly after beating it. TotK seems to have everything in BotW and more, with quality of life changes on top of it all.
Just found some games on itch.io for learning Cantonese. I couldn't find anything on steam, so I'm pretty excited. Mandarin is so much more common, but Canto is relevant and important to me, so this is a great find! I'm excited to try it out because I've been looking for a long time.
As someone that always customizes their hyperlink colors, it took me a moment to remember that the default was blue and purple to get the joke. If it wasn't for the other comments, I might still be confused.
I hate ai slop, but slop in a shitpost? im not sure how much i care. i expect a shitpost to be be shitty. there was more work in your shitpost than one of those communities that serve automated slop, so i won't fault a shitposter for using ai here.
I really like this idea, and I am a fan of the Mass Effect series and universe, but I can't help but think that I would like this project more if you tackled the licensing hurdle by creating a unique IP with many similar aspects of the Mass Effect universe.
In a better world, we could riff more easily off of ideas; but here I see what seems like a great idea potentially shut down through IP enforcement. Even if you do get the agreement that you seek, you are having to agree to the mandate of E.A., who doesn't have the best reputation in regards to respecting those working with them.
As much as I love Mass Effect, I think that you are better off creating an original product. I do see the benefit of piggybacking off of the fame, and your personal interest, of Mass Effect, but I personally would prefer this alternative, for whatever that may be worth to you.
Snakes, rats, sharks, and pigs. These are all beautiful animals, but describe terrible humans. These animals don't deserve the association. I agree with you, and maybe we should stick to double-crossers, snitches, shysters, and cops or find other catchy names that work.
Better is one way to put it. Though I may end up homeless again if I can't find some work soon. I just had a ton vet bills for a sick pet come in and I injured my leg, it's not super great prospects at the moment. :(
I was homeless, and also briefly in jail for doing something others had respected; jail sucks and is never preferable, but it certainly made things a lot easier than it would have been had I not entered with respect. On my first day I was receiving gatorades, instant noodles, and muffins from people stopping by my cell. I even was given all the paper and pencils I wanted to do my art.
Homelessness was risky, but I would still choose it over jail with respect. Not to say that the sacrifice wouldn't be worth it if you did the right thing.
oh! I must be confused. I usually use that list as well to find brands that support the genocide, and thought I had seen it on there.
I didn't find it there, though I did find that Blackrock is a major shareholder:
Costco’s major shareholders include institutional investors and renowned mutual funds like Vanguard Fiduciary Trust, BlackRock Advisors, State Street Corp, Geode Capital Management,...
Costco is not good. Sure, unions are good because it causes corporations like costco to make decisions like like these, but I will never support a corporation that supports the genocide of the Palestinian people.
edit: Costco does not, as far as I can tell, actually support the genocide. I was mistaken, but I'm leaving it up so that the replies and subsequent conversation still make sense.
I imagine that it is a particular crowd that is present on lemmy that holds on to this one, as I have not seen a Loss meme since 2011. Probably older americans working in tech is my best guess; especially those who consumed web comics from back in the day.
wow, I forgot about this... I feel old...
