It's definitely not simple to use but I agree that the conceptual model it represents is straightforward. I think a lot of the problems people have with git come from not understanding the underlying data structure before learning how to manipulate it.
Someone else has a server and their infrastructure is set up so you can upload a zip of some executable and they'll figure out how to make it run. You don't worry about any details except your code and whatever API is require to be compatible, and they worry about hosting it, making sure it has memory, CPU time, disk space, DB, etc.
Ehhh, not really. If showing 10,000 people an ad costs you $10 and even one person made a purchase off that, you've paid for the ad buy. Internet ad conversions are considered unbelievably excellent if 1% of viewers click on the ad and 1% of those people make a purchase.
Also, if you don't advertise, then your competition that do advertise are going to eat your lunch.

It's a culture that goes back to /r/chapotraphouse, when posters would share screenshots of some moronic reactionary take and drag the offender into the thread to bully them for being racists or transphobic.

Nah, meters are very straightforward and easy to work with. How far is a kilofoot? God only knows, but a kilometre is a trivially visualized distance. What's 1/100 of a foot? Dunno, but with meters it's a centimeter which is, again intuitively easy to grasp.
It's stupid to spend that much money on cardboard but also nobody is forming gargantuan obnoxious communities about investing in MTG cards, and MTG is definitely less of an environmental disaster than NFTs, and almost certainly has less impact than just the packs of cards for Vegas
