The 4.1m was the budget for the front-end. The back-end changes were initially budgeted as 31m but tripled in cost as the project dragged on and contracts needed to be extended.

More likely mismanagement, miscommunication, rewrites, and incompetence than corruption.

All projects of sufficient complexity overrun their cost/time estimates. That's not even accounting for designers and programmers trying to hit what is likely a moving target.

Legend of The Galactic Heroes. It's a slow burn, but it has dozens of characters and many of them have emotionally satisfying arcs.

Seven Samurai, if you haven't seen it. It's long enough that it features an intermission. One of the top, all-time-classic films, and debatably Akira Kurosawa's most influential work, given how many remakes and reimaginings there are of it.

For something less classic and more quirky, check out The Hudsucker Proxy.

If you'd like an anime drama, check out 5 Centimeters Per Second. It's a feast for the eyes and won several awards when it came out. That one's also only just over 1 hour, so it's convenient to squeeze in if another film doesn't fill the time of the flight quite right.

I quite enjoyed watching Killers of The Flower Moon during a long flight, as well. That one's like 3 hours, so it's perfect for when you're on a plane with no distractions.

I would look into Credit Union options if I were you. They're not-for-profit, unlike banks, so the terms tend to be better and favor the members of the credit union (everyone with an account is a member)
