ELI5 How come the US goes after people who can enrich Uranium? If I had a country and smart people to build one but was just build energies why does the US have to intervene ie Iran.?
  • The common answer is nuclear proliferation. Power is one thing but it’s just a hop away from weapons.

The international community has a vested interest in some of the more… reactionary… countries not having weapons of mass destruction.

That said, the reality isn’t so simple and often these arguments make for good excuses to justify acting on other interests.

    It’s an incredibly complex topic.

  • Canada Goose
  • If you mess with them they'll mess with you back. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone

    Absolutely not.

I’ve walked to school past so many of these wretched monstrosities I can assure you, there’s no detour wide enough…

  • Canada Goose
  • Sure “Aww” as long as it’s on the other side of the glass…

These are the trials moose and bear aspire to be.

They will destroy you for no other reason than they can. Geese, swans, and all their seemingly gorgeously-downed ilk are creatures of pure torment born of darkness and rage, set upon mankind to rend your flesh and subdue your very spirit. To revel in leaving you forever burdened with the echo of your own wails when beset upon by these brutishly-beaked manifestations of natures ire. They live to feast on the withered remains of dignity the hubris of your humanity might have allowed you and to suggest otherwise is to admit you’ve never actually encountered one.

They’re why Canadians can be so nice in the face of a harsh and bitter world. To live, never mind thrive, among these miserable creatures is to know you can withstand any petty horror the world could summon. From the time they’re old enough to walk themselves to school Canadian children run daily gauntlets of these unholy abominations. Never mind pampered heroes like Leonidas and his spear, Canada’s younglings are armed - on days when fortune smiled upon us - with little more than a hockey stick and, perhaps, hand-me-down pads. But for those who survived, well, like the man says: you ain’t gotta flex nuts if you know you got ‘em.

  • Europe is preparing to host the Age Assurance Standards Summit, where industry leaders will gather to discuss age assurance legislation across the continent.

Really? They’re gonna talk about porn at AASS eh? Or if you visit the site, since it’s Global and all, GAASS.

But either way, AASS or GAASS, no one rides for free.

  • First ever homebrew!
  • Well yeah ok you could, but for all intents and purposes it’s dead/residual/left over/sediment yeast.

If you’ve were going to harvest yeast better to do it after primary eh.

  • First ever homebrew!
  • Nice! Haha I get it, I’ve gone right into growlers before when I wasn’t feeling well just to get it done. Only had one blow once lol.

If you’ve got “buy and old freezer” money for this that’s absolutely the best plan. Get that, or just an old form fridge or whatever, as long as it works, and something like this: https://a.co/d/244s4zY

I have the same one, it’s worked reliably for years.

  • First ever homebrew!
  • Congrats! It looks great.

Fair warning about aging in plastic, it might take on some weird flavors ;)

As for the stuff in the bottom, if it’s a white, kinda powdery-floats-into-solution-kind of deal, like silt in water, it’s dead yeast as fermentation continues in the bottle.

As for temp, if you want to get technical fermentation controllers can be fairly inexpensive but the cheapest way is probably find a cooler area of your house then wrap the carboy in blankets / add a seed starter mat to the area to add minor heating nudges until it’s where you want it consistently.

  • I imagine easier right?

Like, you don’t have to 007 to set up a thirst trap tumbler that eventually slips “weird Dave” in gov HR a malware link to log key strokes…
