Kid Icarus SNES Port Upgrade Boosts Gaming Experience
  • Looks like fun, and the updated graphics will be a good upgrade.

  • Sony Before the PlayStation | GameSack [50:49]
  • Enjoyed the episode as always

  • [Guide] Uptime monitoring in Windows
  • Correct, if that machine goes down you won't have any notification. I was thinking along the lines of you are hosting services on one machine while the computer itself is acting as the host or hypervisor.

  • [Guide] Uptime monitoring in Windows
  • Quite a lot of work went into your program, I bet you learned some good code while writing it. I've used a simple Windows program called Easy Net Monitor. You can specify IP address or hostname connectivity tracking with email alerts.

  • Shadows Of The Damned: Hella Remastered Releases On October 31 | Retro Gaming News 24/7
  • Not sure what changes I'd like, maybe better character movement? This reminds me I haven't finished this on my PS3.

  • What’s Your Oldest System?
  • PS3, modded with HEN 1.5 TB SSD.

  • Seriously, why aren't most people using adblock these days
  • Adblock Plus still works for me on YouTube. I click a video, and when it loads there's a quick flash where the ad would have played then the video starts. So it looks like it's just autoskipping them quickly without displaying anything. Not even the 5 second thing happens.

  • [General question to the Android community] Have you given up on the audio jack, or do you still only buy devices that have it?
  • I seek out phones with audio jacks. My current Moto G Power 2020 has one and I use it all the time. No dongles or adapters in the car or on various headphones. Plus I actually use the FM Radio built into the phone and that uses the wire for the headphones as an antenna. I just cut off some old earbuds and plug that in, then direct the audio to either the phone speaker itself or BT.

  • Robocop: Rogue City's surprising success proves there's still room in the business for mid-tier games with good licenses
  • I'm having a blast with the game, the gameplay is solid. I really liked the movies and the character so that probably helps.

  • Windows Updated and is Pushing More Stuff
  • You can prevent this. Click remind later then go to your notifications in the settings app. Uncheck "Suggest ways I can finish setting up" and anything else you don't want to see.

  • Is there any form of printer that isn't a complete con-job or scam?
  • I agree. I take my brother laser printer off the shelf, plug in power, plug in USB and push print. I get my jobs with no fuss. I'd never go back to ink jets and their constantly needing expensive ink or clogging.

  • Facelift For A Previously Broken NES
  • They were 2 shades of gray, not white.

  • Hey, you, what controller do you use for emulation?
  • Most of the time I use the pdp Wired Xbox controller, but sometimes I'll use the 8bitdo SNES30. Logitech Rumble Pad 2 still gets some use and if I'm feeling especially nostalgic I'll use the SN Program pad with a SuperSmartJoy that converts it to USB.

  • Which upcoming games are you most excited for?
  • Seriously hyped for RoboCop Rogue City.

  • What are YOU self-hosting?
  • Couple of Dell and Lenovo mini PCs

    • Custom browser start page
    • File server
    • Media server with Tonido
    • Jellyfin
    • Vectorpod

The other machine just has random VMs for testing things like:

    • Owncloud
    • LAMP
    • Whatever else I run into
  • What are peoples thoughts on games requiring always online? How does it affect your enjoyment of those games?
  • I don't like it and try not to play games where it's a requirement. Especially in single player games.
