  • There's Peertube as an alternative. It lacks some content, but the platform is on par. It is developed by a French association called Framasoft. Thus said, you're right, Youtube is still okay, even thus there are some fake videos and scam, but they are easy to avoid.

  • J'utilise pas mal Reddit et ça fait longtemps que je voulais passer sur Lemmy. Récemment, j'ai revu un commentaire qui l'évoquait ! Je suis un avide utilisateur / dev de logiciels libres et les dernières politiques de Reddit ne m'ont pas plus (plus d'app en dehors de la leur, entraînement d'IA). Je trouvais Lemmy un peu vide, mais ça grossit doucement, alors je viens dans les rangs 🙂

  • Oui, c'est vraiment terrible de voir ces images... J'ai beau avoir vu ses soutiens à l'extrême-droite un peu partout dans l'actu, ça m'a quand même choqué de voir ça...

    Hors sujet, mais je n'utilise pas Lemmy depuis longtemps. À quoi ça sert de mettre @France ? Et mon pseudo ?

  • I don't think so. The reverse is even happening as there are way more restrictions inside Europe for Europeans companies. The result is that they are less competitive, but more respectful for EU citizens (but unfortunately, outside companies don't always have to respect this, for now).

  • Do you encrypt your drives and why or why not?
  • I use encryption on laptops, because they can be stolen in the train, bus, etc. On work desktop, I do so as well, because there are many people around. However, on everything that stay at home, I prefer not to use it to simplifiy things and get more performance.
