Yeah I need to see footage of the cat being weirded out lol
Yeah the theater's still popular but when I was there the mall itself was quite dead
Same. He's really in a league of his own when it comes to this kind of content
That book looks awesome thanks for sharing!
Of course! Glad you found it interesting :)
Hey guys, wanted to recommend some dead mall YouTube creators whose videos I've enjoyed over the years. Leave a comment if you think of someone else worth checking out!
First up is Dan Bell. This guy can be credited for popularizing dead mall content and he's the reason a lot of people got into dead malls in the first place. He doesn't upload dead mall videos as often as he used to, but he's been doing it for a long time and he has a huge catalog of awesome videos with great commentary, filming, and editing. This video is one of my personal favorites and serves as an excellent introduction to the world of dead malls.
Next is Sal. Sal has been in the game for a while now and he's a very active member of the dead mall community, serving as both a moderator of the dead mall subreddit and creator of the dead mall discord! His videos dive deep into the history of these malls and he probably gives the most in depth commentary out of all the dead mall tubers. Here's an excellent video of his covering one of the most iconic dead malls of all time, Forest Fair Village,
Finally we have Ace's Adventures. Ace's videos are very well made and you can tell he has a real passion for dead malls and the community surrounding it. He uses awesome music in his videos and, like Sal, does a great job of diving into the history of these malls. Here's an excellent video of him wandering around the set for Stranger Things at Gwinnett Place mall.
An honorable mention would be Retail Archaeology. This channel covers retail stores in general but he also has some great dead mall videos. Definitely worth checking out.
And that's about it! Please be sure to comment any channels I missed :)
Yeah there's a Megamart and a Burlington Coat Factory I believe. The Megamart has some amazing Korean food.
Here's a great video discussing the history of the mall: https://youtu.be/C9tVb5ke4g8
Nice. That's a legendary dead mall. It's a shame it got boarded up
Lol fair. For me, the melancholy and sadness is part of the appeal. I kinda enjoy those feelings of sad nostalgia. I also like to be able to appreciate these beautiful, massive buildings before they get torn down or replaced with something else.
Come join us and be sure to post a picture of your favorite dead mall! Hope to see you there! !deadmalls@lemmy.fmhy.ml https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/c/deadmalls
Better quality :)
Command line. I even use termux for Android but I wanna try out seal some time
Wow. Truly the innovators of all time
Good point. I'll probably be on lemmy for a good long while in that case 👍
If you join lemmy.fmhy.ml they don't defederate from any porn servers. It's all over my "all" feed and I haven't decided if I like it or not yet lol.
It's the fastest lemmy app I've tried and I've tested all the ones I can find on android
I sincerely hope it doesn't. If Lemmy reaches the same levels of toxicity as reddit then I will be moving to a new platform with less people and hopefully less toxicity. Lemmy has opened my eyes to the fact that I don't have to constantly deal with assholes in order to engage with people online. There are tons of good quality, friendly communities online, you just have to find them.
No, they're wrong. Communities need posts. Period. Someone's gotta get the ball rolling. Content doesn't just come from nowhere. As long as the posts are relevant and there's no rules against spam I think what you're doing is a good thing :)

Just gonna start posting some of my personal photos and stuff from reddit over the next couple days
Just want a good general site for software. Thanks :)
Made a year ago so a lil outdated but I still love all these shows! (Here's a website to make your own!)
