  • Working in the mortgage industry, part of it is also how lenders assess the income from the property when compared to its value. With interest rates having shot up the last few years (albeit coming back down somewhat recently) the stress calculations mean lenders want ever higher rent to cover the mortgages they have on the properties.

Doesn’t help that your average investor is usually borrowing the max of 75% LTV either, as you said.

  • It’s been this way for decades. I had logo’d uniform when I was in junior school in the 80s. My brother had the same in the 70s, and it’s existed long before then. If anything schools are somewhat more flexible now than they used to be, my daughter starts school for the first time next week, and her school just needs the right colours, logos are not mandatory. I’ve heard of other schools just wanting the top most layer (jumper, blazer, whatever) having the logo.

  • Nationalise them all. They’ve been syphoning off funds for their shareholders for decades. Time to put those profits where they should actually be used, improving the pipes and fixing shit, and any excess going towards other national infrastructure.

  • Not a bad day today, but as always the daughter has her moments. 4 1/2, due to start school in August (Leicestershire is weird). We came back from a 4 night hol at Haven yesterday and tbf she was mostly well behaved, although I’ve never seen anyone speed run through a Sea Life centre like she wanted to!

  • In the morning, butter. As much butter as possible. If I’m in the mood for a snack in the evening then toast them first, some ketchup, cheese, few mixed herbs and in the microwave til the cheese melts. Crumpet pizza ftw

  • That sounds like a programming limitation that should be amended then, rather than requiring the re-issue of a new number just because somebody can’t be arsed to write the code to allow it to be changed.

The NHS systems are so antiquated at this point. They really need a complete re-write to be fit for purpose.

  • I’d like to think it’s the opposite, the AI systems were actually being fair and allocating payouts to people the manual process wouldn’t have, so it was scrapped for being too expensive.

Give it time though and they’ll sort that out, can’t possibly pay out to people who actually need help. It’s just not how they do things.
