What Torrenting program do you use?
  • I had a problem with qbittorrent years ago with a DNS leak but once I solved that no issues. I can't remember what the problem was but I am almost certain it was user config related and not program related.

  • How did you choose your first army?
  • I think the best way to pick your first army is to try and find one who's troop choices you'll enjoy painting the most. If the troops are really interesting to you and you'll enjoy painting them, that means you're more likely to finish painting them and be encouraged to play games. I guess this doesn't apply if you want to play with unpainted minis though.

  • When does 40k oldhammer stop and what is later?
  • I love this comment. It pretty much encapsulates my feelings. 3rd edition is when miniatures and kids started becoming more polished, but the older miniatures were still standard on the tabletop. I love this era of minis. Handscuplts always seem to have more character.

  • Everyone's take on 10th so far?
  • It also sets a bad precedent. For instance the indirect fire points hike. Since all weapon choices are the same points cost, some units get a points hike because they CAN select an indirect fire weapon even if they dont. Guard ordinance battery for example.

  • Everyone's take on 10th so far?

What is everyone's take on 10th so far? Personally, I think after 9th they really needed a hard reset. The games feel a lot smoother and there isn't as much searching for rules. The universal rules really seemed to have helped.

Halo Infinite lost 98% of its players on Steam since release
  • This right here. I think the popularity of Battlebit proves this point. If devs make a game that they themselves would want to play, they create a great game. If the game is made via committee and how much profits the suits can squeeze out of it there is a good chance the game sucks.

  • How long does it typically take GW to restock models?
  • How long has it been like this? I'm a 3rd-4th edition player getting back into it and it's kind of alarming to see. I never remember having a hard time getting units or models. If it came down to it you could special order whatever you needed, including individual bits.

  • I needed a dreadnought for a new list. A couple of hours on the printer and 15 minutes of stippling later....
  • Oh yeah. That sounds like a good way to do it. I was considering getting an airbrush but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I may start trying this technique on some of my marines. This is just stippling with a drybrush progressively lighter. I'm not sure how it would work on smaller details but like you say, for armor, it works great. Plus it really gives it that grim dark look.

I've started to use a quick and dirty method for painting vehicles. It is a Reaper triad stippled over black primer. I think the vehicles turn out great for a quick tabletop ready paint job.
