  • Bringing Back Discs & Learning a Lost Art, Pt. 1

  • Not just Day 1 patches but continued post-launch support too. And DLCs. Back in the times before the internet a game would release and that was it. The disc was the whole game and all it would ever be. We're not there anymore.

    Also, discs degrade really fast anyway, it's not an amazing long term storage medium. I'd rather the GOG model of offline DRM free installers you can store on your own, in terms of game preservation, than forcing production of discs.

  • I do feel nauseous when eating sugar too after weaning myself off it years ago, but I don't mind it. It's easier to just not eat sweets at all. That means I don't have to think too much about counting calories either.

  • Sid Meier's Pirates! was remade twice - once in '93 and once in '04. Probably the first title that springs to mind for me. I have unfortunately only played the 2004 version, although I know the older ones are considered all time classics. Maybe one day.

  • Make every shot count in Perihelion: Rogue Orbit, a space roguelite with EVE-style transversal combat

  • EVE has underrated combat mechanics to be honest, so I'm surprised there haven't been more attempts to make games inspired by them. Managing your transversal and tracking of yours and the enemy's weapons is quite fun.
