Giving people more, or better, health insurance, or raising minimum wage, are policies that the donor class feels comes at their expense. Either monetarily, or by giving the peasants more financial freedom, which they view as weakening their strangle hold on society.

They may have moral objections to marijuana, but enough of them also want to get richer off of it, so it's not the same thing.

The Democrats are structurally incapable of making any of those demands, except for legalized weed, as that does not improve the material economic conditions of the 99%.

Anything that improves material economic conditions of the 99% are policies that are violently opposed by their donor class, and the donor class always wins.

For people who can spare $100-$200, I recommend buying an old ThinkPad or Dell business class laptop off eBay. Install Windows, update it, and stick it in your closet.

Because yes, sometimes you just need a Windows machine. VMs will cover most one off Windows requirements, but nothing beats a bare metal install.

Obviously this is not a solution for gaming, just the odd piece of Windows only software you need to run, or hardware you need to interface with that doesn't have Linux drivers.

They are modeling this after Apple's technical response to being forced to allow other app stores.

Would it shock you to learn that Apple revoked the certificates of developers who published apps they didn't like on other app stores e.g. torrent client?

Google will do the same exact thing with apps that impact the profitability of their native services e.g. Newpipe.
