What are some items that really aren't worth paying the expensive version for?
  • Not exactly. Just a fun fact and disclaimer that I use generics if at all possible. But my pharmacology class taught that generics can have higher tolerance of error in % of active ingredient. Not usually a big deal unless the drug has a very narrow therapeutic range, meaning too little doesn’t work and too much will harm you. 99.9% of generics is fine. But if you ever wonder if one batch of your med doesn’t seem to work as well this it’s likely that batch was on the lower end of acceptable.

  • [AskEurope] Fellow Europeans, what is the aspect of USA lifestyle that surprises you the most?
  • Grew up here thinking all this is normal. Trump opened my eyes to our crazy country. Now I’m a bit of a black sheep of the family. Enjoying all of your responses. Just bought my first European car recently. Hope to go back soon.

  • [AskEurope] Fellow Europeans, what is the aspect of USA lifestyle that surprises you the most?
  • USA here. Grew up wearing shoes all over the house. Even in carpet, etc. one out of a dozen friends will have a house rule no shoes in the house or on the carpet. Those people are weirdos 😉 edit. I do wear shoes on my bed or couch. Wouldn’t place on my pillow or my head area.

  • Advice on how to address lower back pain?
  • For non traumatic low back pain you can try ice, lidocaine patches, NSAIDs and stretching. It still may bug you for a week or more. For long term need to implement some exercises.

Quad/hamstring stretches are vital. And can give good relief.

Also. Avoid heat and aggressive stretching/exercise early on. It may feel a bit better for the moment but can make inflammation/pain worse or last longer

You should see a doctor and get XR if you experience worsening symptoms or numbness/tingling.
