What I think kbin needs to do to survive, and why I think it has a better chance than any other Reddit alternative I've seen yet.
  • Just chiming in to say Kbin does appear to have a block feature - it’s the little circle with a slash through it next to the “subscribe” or “follow” button for a magazine/user/instance. I only found it recently, so spreading the knowledge around.

  • What is the most useful website you know?
  • https://search.marginalia.nu/ is a great little search engine for research. It favors results that would most likely be buried in the larger engines, excellent for finding lesser known sources.

Also the “random” button is a lot of fun, and fairly nostalgic if you remember the late 90s-early 00s web. Lots of geocities style personal websites still out there apparently.

  • share your lazy (but somewhat healthy) air fryer / microwave recipes. snack ideas welcome!!
  • Crispy chickpeas are my go to air fryer snack. Especially lazy since I don't even bother to preheat the fryer...

    • 1/2 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
    • 1 tsp olive oil
    • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/8 tsp onion powder
    • 1/4 tsp paprika
    • 1/8 tsp cayene
    • pinch salt
    1. Drain and rinse chickpeas (no need to dry). Toss with olive oil and spices and dump into fryer basket.
    2. Put the basket in your non-preheated fryer. Turn it on, set to around 390°F (200°C), and cook for about 14 minutes total, shaking a couple of times.
    3. Remove and add additional salt and pepper to taste.
