  • I was going to run a campaign in 5e during a primordial era, where the land is still shifting and moving. Since it takes place thousands of years before anything, I felt "adventurers" wouldn't fit the characters, and decided "pathfinders" would fit in the setting, and was a funny little tongue in cheek reference.

Since that initial idea, I've moved on to playing pf2e, and if I ever run this campaign, am definitely going to keep that name going.

  • I can chime in as someone who has been playing both Baldur's Gate 3 (when my and my friends schedule allows) and Sea of Stars - Sea of Stars is fantastic and great on the Switch. Beautiful pixel art and the combat is a lot of fun.

  • That's one of the few HD2D that looks good to me. In my opinion, Octopath is way too dark, sepia toned, and saturated. It's not a very pretty game in my eyes. In Star Ocean and Live A Live, the characters don't look like they fit in the world; the difference between the 3D environments and the pixel characters is too stark. But I'm quite interested in DQ3.

  • I'm not sure if it helps you at all, but there some waypoints you can jump to. In fact, there are waypoints both right near the druids grove and one in the goblin encampment.

In regards to what you're doing, there are journal entries that keep track of quests step by step so you can see what you've learned in each as you've progressed.

  • I started watching Sonic the Hedgehog 2 this week. Now let me tell you, I got about 13 minutes in before I had to shut it off.

So instead, I watched another movie about a blue creature getting stranded on Earth. Lilo & Stitch. I've seen it many times, probably 6 at this point, and I never tire of it. The watercolour backgrounds are beautiful, the story and characters are wonderful. Definitely took the sourness of the Sonic movie out and replaced it with a warm feeling.

  • Seriously. Gale started hitting on my friend because he would interact with him regularly. And my friend just picked the "you misunderstood, we're just friends" option. Gale was like "sorry pal, let's keep being good friends" - hasn't brought up wanting to take things to the next level since.

  • For clarification, Golden Sun was mostly 3d rendered models. They purposely made them to have a resemblance to pixel art since they needed it to both fit in a GBA cartridge and screen, and not look ugly while doing all that. Also I believe it is on Switch now if you pay for online and have the GBA emulator (which I personally don't pay for and never will).

I still replay the series once every couple years, though. Fantastic series.

  • You're correct - it's indeed 0 for me. I also went into the folders and deleted the profiles, anyway. They were still there, just the wrong path for the game. I won't be able to play it today anyway since it's such a large download, so fingers crossed everything works tomorrow, haha.

  • I reinstalled the game to remove my saves, only to realise they changed the location of where data was stored in one of the patches that I never installed, meaning I had no saves. What a waste that was, lol.

  • A shame, I was waiting for them to all release on YouTube as the upload schedule is very spaced out and CR live doesn't work for me. I can usually get an hour, maybe 2 before I need to sleep. I'll give it a try, but I thought a more simple, narrative focused system would really let them shine.

  • As I mentioned, I understand there are different tables abd thoughts on this, and as such, different DM styles as well.

For me, while it's the DMs job to help keep things entertaining (though that's everyone's job in my mind), it's also the DMs job to be consistent in the world, since they essentially are the world. I personally don't like fudging because half of the reason my tables play is for things to be determined by the dice, not the DM. I get that other tables play for story and are fine with fudging.

In my experience, this isn't a thing you can discuss to try and convince people otherwise. This isn't me trying to tell people fudging is bad and they should feel bad. I honestly just think after 22 years and hundreds of games, it's crazy that no one cared about it. That's all.
