How people manage to play and chat online with random people?
  • This is what worked for me. Pick the game or games YOU like and just.. Go play them online. For me it's Squad which kind of forces communication so that probably helped, but overall just find something you like. As you start playing online you'll find some people who you don't click on with. Don't let them turn you off the entire thing. Just keep doing it. Eventually you'll find people who share your hobby and you get on with well. Then comes Discord or Teamspeak what have you. After a while somebody suggests another game. Suddenly you have friends what.

TL;DR Don't try to find friends to do what you like. Do what you like and make friends along the way.

  • I manage a hotel and while this would be a small help towards marketing, you're just gonna forget about that duck in when you get home. Maybe you post it on social media or tell a couple friends. Really I am way more interested in the positive impact a small gift like this has with guest satisfaction scores and guest/staff engagement. I bet tons of people talk to the front desk about the cute duck which might give us a chance to recommend a good restaurant or solve a minor issue the guest might not have mentioned to us. It's a unique ice breaker to start a relationship between the staff and the guest which is incredibly important for achieving high guest service scores.

  • I'll shit on Elon all day, but pretty sure Bill Gates is just a nice dude who retired and just wants to do shit to help out at this point. I watched some documentary where they followed him around for a few weeks and he was just so focused on people not having water and working toilets in Africa. I mean I guess these days anything can be called propaganda, but that guy keeps to himself and helps people.
