    I was cruising internet nostalgia and found that milk.com is largely the same formatting today (updated March 2023) as it was back in 1996.

    I had quite a chuckle at the tagline in the footer: milk.com is a blink-free zone.

    Why do instances not run ads?

  • Instead of ads Lemmy operators should be paid for hosting. Users should be asked for funding on a periodic basis (perhaps a small number of subscribers could fund the entire hosting for all.)

    No one should assume this is all free forever.
