I had no idea how you'd pronounce lychen, so thanks for the educational pun!
Nice one! Yeah they got some really cool restrooms spread around Norway.
I would want to recommend to see if there's not some community lab somewhere around you, chemicals are bit messy and many of them are not that long lasting either and then it may be a bit risky to still use it. I think it makes a lot of sense to share this stuff.
I was using diafine developer at home, because it has a long shelf life (rodinal too) and it pushes the films quite a bit, I was keen to be able to shoot fast shutter speeds. Also is quite fool proof. Now I am a member of some maker space kinda thing with a photo lab, have yet to use it though, really went digital in the last .. decade really 😅 But I want to make use of it soon.
But they are not scared of you, just the metro? Really cool.
Damn. Only one chick left this morning.
.
That was a good week early. Guess it fell and a cat's got it. I looked around for it but no luck.
Thanks, that makes sense I guess. Those are some really cool names for the crows! Stash. I watch the crows in my yard stash stuff too, I thought they might be the ones who stashed peanuts in my flower pots, but now i suspect it's the jays.
Thank you for the great story. Your dog must still be dreaming of those sheep, haha.
Also love seeing the shepherd dogs at work, very professional.
Haha, sounds real good. How many are they who follow you around, do they follow all together or do they have their sections? And can you tell (some of) them apart?
I tried to attract some crows to my balcony, but they seem real shy. I know they pick up peanuts at some other place in the yard. The daily peanut I lay out was only once collected by a crow (that I saw), then the jay took over.

One parent was just there to feed, that's how i saw them. It was doing a good job of feeding both, because it was sitting on the thin dark steel beam and could only feed the one that was closest, but then flew away for a second to land in between the chicks and feed the other one, which seems to have some feather condition on its neck.
Under the terrace roof of a cafe again. Hope they don't get hurt falling off that beam before they're ready, the feeding excitement looked really sketchy.
Yes, very much worth it, can make a big difference. Even though i turned to buy my local store's brand, I saw that they were rated very highly in a canned tomatoes test and they really taste good.
Thanks, yeah, some really impressive rock formations there.
And I agree, sardegna is beautiful, enjoying it a lot.

I am not sure if this can even be called a pizza crime because it's available in almost any pizzeria in Italy, may even be listed under the "classic pizza" section. I don't remember seeing this one at home and i have always been kinda keen to order it but never dared to.
So now I saw it in a focacceria and figured this was my chance - just a quick transaction, then I can eat it alone, somewhere where nobody sees me 😁
Well, it was a bit underwhelming tbh. I might have to try it again with freshly fried fries, in a pizzeria, and eat it before the eyes of everybody else.
Oh ok, thank you. It was really kinda tempting to try it, haha. At least some animals seem to like it though, I also saw some complete ones with red berries on it, but this was the biggest one I saw, coconut size.

Well it looked juicy, fruity, sugary to me, I did not try it. In this hot, dry, rocky landscape, this juicy wonder really sticks out.
Location is Sardinia.
Haha, yeah I can kinda see it on the look of your face 😁
I was just at ulassai in sardegna, and while it was crazy hot, a lot of the climbing rocks there are in some narrow gorges which were refreshingly cool. Pretty cool place. But I did not climb, just walked around while taking a break from a cycling trip. Thankfully it cooled down a bit now.
Ha that is awesome. What kind of snacks do you have for them?
I thought all crows like peanuts, but the zero scare crow was only playing around with the one i gave it. I cracked one open and it pecked at the nut but did not eat. Wanted to be fed though but peanuts was all I had. Maybe too young.
I understood it, you are wearing the gear for it, appreciate the stuff you're posting here.
I may cross post whenever I see fit, sure, but I have no interest to have my content in our no-life-bot's toxic repost cloaca.
Me personally too. Stop reposting my content here you self-righteous prick.
I don't give a shit about your politics drama and want you to stop reposting my content here. You do so in order to reduce the interaction I get. Just stop it and leave me alone.
Stop reposting my content here and leave me alone, you fucking cancer ass bully. I don't want to have anything to do with your politics drama.

Although it's those pigeons turf as well. They are a heartbreakingly cute couple, one has no more toes on one foot at all, just a stump, the other one has severely damaged toes on one foot from an old case of stringfoot. Pigeons in this town are in very bad shape.
Thank you. I certainly don't have the ambition to make money off off my content, I just want to share it and have fun without being bothered by this person and have my content dragged into political obsessions. That's it. It would be nice if they could just leave me alone, but they don't.

At the right spot, with enough time and.. construction material, the pigeon nest can grow into something a lot more serious looking than the famous meme nests.
There are nests up to 30-40cm in height at that place.

There is this little crow at Piazetta Savoia in Cagliari who left its nest a bit early two weeks ago. The staff of the surrounding gastronomy fed it and now it is absolutely not scared of people and hangs around there. Doing all kinds of dorky baby crow stuff. Really crazy to see, never seen this before. It made me jump just now, as it nibbled on my sandals as I am writing this.
I passed by here earlier in the morning and was glad to not see it here, so it does seem to have a bit of a life outside of the Piazetta.
I am no crow expert, but I know that it quite often happens that crows leave their nest too early and then keep sitting on the ground. That does not mean the parents don't care for it anymore, but they may still be feeding it. So I would not just pick up a sitting baby crow before observing if the parents are still there for it. It could take a couple hours though.

Hooded crow having a cold drink. All the crows i have seen in Sardinia were hooded crows.

Hello. There are (at least) two rock doves hidden in this picture. Can you spot them? 😁

When I was about to break down my tent, six white Sardinian shepherd dogs showed up. Beautiful medium sized dogs. They were barking a bit, kept a bit of distance, eventually figured I was alright, then left. Guess they had work to do.
I left camp and cycled along this dirt track, which seemed to be a real promising panoramic path to go, when I ran into the group again. The sheep were right at the track and the dogs blocked my way. I stood there for a bit, tried what happened if I pushed my bike a bit more towards them, but they did not seem to like that whatsoever. Bummer. Well at least they left me alone through the night, i heard the sheep's bells and dog's barks all around me when i got here yesterday and was a bit worried they'd bark me out of the spot in the night.
Anyway, i did not want to test how far they would go and decided to turn around and take a different route along some asphalt road, which was also real nice, nobody around but some cows, sheep and cork trees.

One of my favorite things about staying at official camp sites is that the birds in the area know that humans leave crumbs.
Lured some collared doves to my tent. I hope they'll have breakfast with me tomorrow.
Now i looked up what the difference between doves and pigeons is again. I thought there was no difference other than something etymological, dove obviously has Germanic roots, pigeon is French. In German and I believe Dutch they are all called doves (taube, Dutch: duif). But then I read an article which claimed this: > All species and breeds of pigeons have 80 chromosomes while all species and breeds of dove have 76 or 78 chromosomes.
But the feral's ancestors are called rock doves? Are they just named wrong, are they not doves?
French also has the colombe word for what I guess the English call doves, and the rock doves are also called colombe des rochers but i think mostly pigeon biset..

So this is now the 4th spot on the balcony it has chosen to sleep. I just woke it up when i put tomorrow's raisins on the blackbird's plate and took the photo. I saw it before from the inside, it looked like the whole brain was asleep, haha. It has been sleeping here most of the nights since it showed up. One night we scared each other when i went out and it went flying, but returned. I wish it would find a better place to sleep.
I have been giving it some food every day, very early in the morning (it wakes me up, cooing at 5:15). So it has a bit of power for the day to search for more. I did not give it food at any other times and it does not hang out on the balcony. That's good.
It runs into quite a bit of trouble with other pigeons, but it is pretty strong and stubborn, not loosing all of the fights. There is also some bully pigeon who i somehow follows it around a bit, also to the balcony, bugging it at its original sleeping spot. Really weird, no pigeon ever hung out there before.
I'll now be on holidays for a bit and i hope it will look for something else.
