Using exponents in basic Kcalc
  • I'm on kcalc 22.12.3, so maybe something changed. If I click the negative sign after clicking the 8, it works for me. So workflow in science mode: 5 x 10 Xy 8 +/- Enter.

And after typing all this I realize you probably meant using the keyboard. If so, use Backslash after typing the exponent to make it negative.

  • For REAL!! Not playing same game with one copy makes sense. But the one instance per library was harsh. This is tremendous, and honestly, I'll probably buy even more games knowing my kids can play them and I can stick to my same old same old if I don't like it.

  • My some red root floaters seem to be dying. No pump, water at 25c/78f with a heater, a small grow light is keeping them lit during the day. Would tannins from driftwood potentially make them unhappy?
  • Late to the game, but I have some with same wood, and are doing fine. My PH is like 7.3 even with the tannins though. Mine were slow going, but once I removed the bulk of water lettuce, RRF prospered. Is the plant competing with anything? Is it an actual grow light? How is it dying? Is it staying on the surface or getting tossed around by current?

  • Out of touch old timer planning a new build
  • So I was kinda in the same boat. Used to build a lot, had kids, built less. Finally decided I wanted an AM5. Everything seems good, but all my problems I have and currently have seem to stem from DDR5 ram. Expo seems to have issues sometimes, bios resets ram and takes a while to turn on. Not sure if bad sticks or bad MB, but works 99% of the time, so not overly concerned. Basically saying if you have issues, check ram and ram speeds first.

Edit: and bios. That has updates available often it seems.

  • Yea finding length of card and clearance of case is probably the main hurdle. Based on selection, think you should be ok, but always best to verify numbers. Didn't look at what card came with, but some additional support might be nice. Some cards come with a support bracket. Otherwise they sell adjustable bars that support the card, or you can just improvise something.
