Graham Chapman was, ironically enough, impeccable as the straight man of the group.

That's a weird place to have some opinions about jewish and trans people. I like to look at the sinfest subreddit every now and then and that sub really likes to sneer at people who have weird opinions on those topics (such as the author of the titular webcomic).

Could be a Chinese market thing. They like their number eights.

I think killing someone is a pretty major violation of that person's bodily autonomy.

I think I've seen that username on something posted on TechTakes before.

I don't wish ill upon my fellow tech sector workers, but frankly a backlash on the tech industry is long overdue. People have been mad at big tech before and so far it (thankfully) hasn't led to cataclysmic shifts in free software.

I feel like the original Free Software ethos of software freedom as moral obligation first and economic convenience second (if at all) might be more resilient to these kinds of field-shaping challenges than the more business model oriented Open Source ideology. That said, I don't expect the ongoing AI crisis to re-separate F and OS by name in popular or even tech industry consciousness.

Public transit fares are generally malformed. I personally never pay the LA Metro fare. Why? Because I pay the Metrolink fare, which by their own admission covers same-day Metro transit. But police will actively seek me out as a person who looks like they have money and give me a hard time for not “tapping”, all while folks who very clearly have no money waltz on into the metro, stopping only to smoke crack on the elevator up. There’s a general problem in this country of what to do with law breakers who do not have money. It seems like the answer is to make them work and garnish their wages, but for whatever reason we are against that.

Yea the police are always giving such a hard time to people who don't look poor. It's so unfair that someone who can and does apparently pay for public transit has to prove they did.

Honestly, I'm really surprised to hear that IQ is not even a little bit heritable, given that IQ test performance correlates with level of education, which correlates with wealth, which is heritable.

True, wealth is not genetic, but heritability has an interesting definition which leads to some unintuitive cases of heritability abd non-heritability. For instance, wearing earrings is heritable while having ears is not.
