  • @ICastFist dunno, I missed all that by years and only found out after having a lot of fun with the game. Apparently it got so much hate that it's lead dev changed industries. Real shame. Ah well, apparently he is happy now and that's something too.

    *clicks Like angrily*

This! All of the UIs are _SO DAMN BAD_ it's insulting.

  • @ICastFist @chloyster RGO kinda fixed that and everyone was like Boooh it's not RG any more xD

...and then there was that exclusive deal that broke the camels back 🥲 Ded company.

  • Fallout Show, so bad that no one will remember it in 3 months
  • @0xtero @delitomatoes same here but I guess it rakes the clicks in.

Old fart FO player since the very first btw.

This is a great TV adaptation of a game (that isn't exactly known for it's "great" story writing as well)

  • The Fallout show's been a pleasant surprise
  • @hydroptic Maximus did nothing wrong 😆

..or everything. It really depends on the point of view I guess 🤔

  • Now would you look at that. Egosoft sneaked into the Fediverse 🎉
  • @Floppy @bekopharm@discuss.tchncs.de when stuck you can usually always teleport to the ship via hotkey (and after researching teleport basically on any ship or station).

There's only an exception for this at the very beginning where no player owned ship may exist yet.

  • Need game recommendations
  • @jinwk00 @Faydaikin pretty sure I played both, Fallout 1+2, on Linux before too.

The more recent ones run too, of course. This is from my Lutris Launcher listing ~272h of playtime on this installation - last played tonight 😁

  • Switch emulator Yuzu shuts down as creator agrees to pay Nintendo $2.4m
  • @t3rmit3 @chloyster The message is clear: Do not touch anything Nintendo.

For me that includes games as well. Greedy §$"%!$

  • Valve announces Steam Deck OLED refresh: Pre-orders start Nov. 16th.
  • @EmergMemeHologram @vanderbilt looks like a good choice to me :)

It's really mostly EAC and Co nowadays that are blockers. And this is not because there is no support per se. It has to be allowed though because this stuff does indeed detect that it's not a "real Windows".

Stupid launchers are also trouble sometimes. Looking at you EA!

Anyway, a good source to tell is still the protondb. What's listed there usually works on the Steam Deck too. Or has workarounds explained.

  • Check out our new "KDE for Gamers" guide.
  • @kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social that's really nice. What I'm missing for native games is an indicator if they are suited e.g. for mobile devices or require a gamepad.

Do you have something like https://blogs.gnome.org/tbernard/2021/09/07/ready-for-software-41/#device-support ?

Fumbled around with the YT app (dead gods hate mobile phones) and… I managed to produce this short: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BoJHZQpK2Iw

    What do you think? 🤪

It's the first time I tried something like this 😁

Password safe that runs on Linux, Win and Android
  • @WenAmon Also advocating for KeepassXC here. Plays nice with "synced" folders, like with NextCloud, too.

Even comes with ssh-agent which is perfect for persons like me 👌

Alas I'd never install it on my Android. That's my 2FA device. Not much sense in putting all in the same place - even if it offers integrated TOTP 🙃

The only exception may be the TOTP that Steam uses, that is one digit shorter and not supported by the usual (RFC 6238) ones.

  • Kerbal Controller

    Kerbal Controller

The article "Kerbal Controller - the Basics" https://www.instructables.com/Kerbal-Controller-the-Basics/ introduced me to a small but awesome #SimPit community on Discord.

It's also of interest for people not into #KSP as it describes the basics for DIY controllers of any kind very well.

The control panel used for demonstration has another bonus going: It's completely modular and can be 3D printed at home.

    Can recommend 👍

    Primary Buffer Panel

    Primary Buffer Panel

Simpit made from cardboard on a budget mainly used to play Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen and plenty of other Space Pew Pew.

A glorified DIY joystick controller with an LCD ("MFDs") and plenty of RGB.

    Hi there

    Hi there @diysimulators :)

Just noticed that there is a #simpit community starting out on discuss. This is right down my alley.

Mebbe I should reconsider and add a Lemmy account too 🤔
