Stay Mad, Tankies
  • Yes! They ARE blue MAGA. It's insane.

Neolibs: "It is wrong that the GOP has become nothing more that a vehicle for Donald Trump's ambitions."

also Neolibs: "It would be wrong for the DNC to be anything more than a vehicle for Joe Biden's ambitions."

  • Hear what Joe and Jill Biden said about his debate performance | CNN Politics
  • This kind of in-accountability, where you neolibs cover for Biden and the DNC like a child hiding their alcoholic parent's empty nip bottles, is A) sad and B) to blame for being in this situation to begin with. Enjoy they fruit of your labors.

  • Joe Biden's chances of winning election plummet after debate
  • Parties don't have primaries out of the goodness of their hearts, they have them to avoid situations like this. But the geniuses at the DNC won't learn a damn thing from this because they cannot fail, only be failed.

  • Piracy shield in Italy - unavoidable even with a VPN?
  • Your VPN isn't forcing you onto its DNS and is using your ISP's. I'd assume Proton has some kind of "antitracker" option or similar in the client that would make it use a Proton-provided DNS server. Failing that, you can use a public DNS server located outside of a piracy shield country by setting it manually.

  • President Joe Biden ‘appalled’ by violence during pro-Palestinian protest at Los Angeles synagogue
  • Per Nicholas Kristoff's reporting in the NYT, Biden's been an advocate for Israel murdering as many children as possible going back to their invasion of Lebanon in the Reagan administration. The only issue he's never flip-flopped on is murdering children.

  • what's your current linux distro?
  • Yeah, I use Gnome, and I kind of hate it and feel like a bunch of religious ideologues are constantly trying to break my window manager on update so I find Jesus, but I'm used to it, so it's what I use...

  • Not Likeable
  • Bill Clinton and Obama were better at not specifically going out of their way to make a show of antagonizing their own base (with the exception of Sista Souljah). Hillary and Biden (especially Biden surrogates like Simone Sanders and Jen Psaki and Karine Jean Pierre) you can SEE the contempt just DRIP off of them. It's insulting, and it's going to cost them volunteers and donations, even if most of those voters are in one party DNC rule states they overtly take for granted. There's a reason why the dems lost the house in 2022 basically entirely in the NYC metro area.

  • what's your current linux distro?
  • I think Fedora is the current best distro. I've used everything under the sun over time, and if you use linux for 20+ years, you'll find you need to distro hop because every distro will get bad (and ideally good again).

  • Congestion Pricing Delay in New York Ripples Across the Country
  • Hochul was chosen by Cuomo to be such an unthinkable choice for governor that he could never be impeached. Now, because the DNC doesn't do primaries (except when Israel wants someone's head) she's governor for life.

  • Not Likeable
  • Why can't we ask better of a party that wants our votes, money, and volunteer hours? Post-2016, the DNC has the weirdest possible relationship with its voters, leaning REAL hard into the "Well, it's us or Comcast" of the whole party duopoly system, and is only made them electorally weaker. The GOP is running a man with 40% approval defending Dobbs, which cuts 60+/40- our way. That we're not looking at a UK this year-style electoral massacre is an indictment of the DNC, and how the state recognized duopoly system squashes real democracy.

  • How do you think Gore would have dealt with Afghanistan?
  • Given the 200 year long Al Saud/Bush family connection, and the key role we now know Saudi intelligence played in providing material support for the attacks on 9/11, it wouldn't be crazy to assume it wouldn't have happened at all under Gore. Even assuming the Bushes weren't complicit with their long time friends, it was known and reported at the time that while Clinton was very focused on Bin Laden, W thought it was a distraction before 9/11.

  • Not Likeable
  • A primary hones a candidate and a party's messaging. The idea that it weakens you is perpetuated by the PR execs who run the DNC, because they don't want to need to deal with internal discontent about them being shit at running a political party. How much free earned media did Trump get, looking like a winner, defeating his opponents? You can't buy that kind of media. But the DNC prefers media cycles of "Man accused of rigging last election won't even allow a primary vote in 5+ states." It's just bad optics, pure and simple, and is part of why Biden's approval is in the 30's. America has never seen him run a non-basement campaign, where he actually tries to earn their votes, since he was calling voters "fats" and challenging them to fist fights in January of 2020.
