  • Yeah, however it wasn't doing that "intentionally" (to the degree that a bunch of matrix math has intent) - I think it's pretty clear that the missing leg and the extra knees are the same category, the same one as extra fingers and clothing parts that just taper in and out of existence, etc.

  • Nice!

First issue I see - at least on my browser (Kiwi, chromium based. On Android), usernames are not showing on the feed view - they do when opening a post or in the ellipse menu for a post on the feed. I tried both light and dark modes, and tried clearing cache.

  • I get the reasoning, but I do feel that the rules are Way too strict on artwork (as opposed to pics/video of real people) to an unprecedented level. I'd like to see that reevaluated to be more in line with what other sites that allow NSFW permit - if they were facing legal trouble over that content, then they would ban it too, so I think it's pretty evident that they don't.

In particular this whole concept of establishing a "canon age" for every character and disallowing aged-up art strikes me as much worse than simply disallowing any art that looks underage.

  • Is there a way to see all the existing NSFW Lemmits?

I want to follow many of the NSFW subreddit-communities from this account and probably request more, but the communities page doesn't show NSFW when not logged in (making an account on lemmit itself just to see the list seems like overkill and could be confusing about what's logged in where, if it's even allowed)

What's the point of having downvotes?
  • I don't think there's anything wrong with using them as like/dislike buttons on LemmyNSFW. This isn't a "does it contribute to the conversation" instance for the most part (this particular community being an exception - I upvoted this post because it's worth discussing even if I disagree with OP's request)
Porn is a subjective art, and some is better or worse as judged by a given audience. I want the things people like to rank higher than the things they are meh about, and the things they actively dislike to rank even lower than that.

As for the difference, a downvote is a much stronger statement. On the rare occasions that I do downvote here it means I truly want to see less like that for whatever reason, while posts I just don't care about I don't vote on, and I think that's an important distinction to have available. (There are so many times I've wished I could "dislike" Twitter posts...)
