  • I don't have anything crazy setup. I'm always trying to think of some additional stuff I can setup, but only if it's really going to be useful to me.

I have an Unraid box with some containers and a few VMs

    • Home Assistant OS (VM)
    • small linux vm for hosting a personally built discord bot and twitter bot
    • Plex
    • *arr stack
    • Jellyfin
    • qbitorrent
    • Plex Meta Manager
    • tautulli
  • Traveling overseas is what really converted me to this mindset. I went to Japan back in 2017,granted they have a lot of cars still, but the level of public transit, large side walks, walkable friends neighborhoods (granted yes, in cities). Really kind of opened my eyes.

I think my family and friends think I'm insane because I talk about public infrastructure and how horrible car centric we are here, but they've only ever been here, mostly in suburbia

Pic I took of Norfolk&Western 611 a couple years ago in Strasburg PA

  • It was years ago, so my memory may be a bit foggy on it lol. I looked up the names someone else suggested and it was Xia: Legends of a Drift System. I remember it was a lot of fun, even if I was totally out of my depth the first time playing it

  • Man I feel this all the time. I can't count the number of times I'm talking to my boss about something and I think "oh yeah, should be easy" and something will trip me up for a day

  • As silly as it may be, city builders or transport managers. I find it very relaxing and easy to just lose a day a in. I usually play with sandbox modes because I just like to design. It's kind of like digital model building I guess

  • There is a board game I played years ago at a comic shop, and I can never remember the name of it. I only played it once but it was super fun. Kind of like if Freelancer were a board game. You had a huge game board with a bunch of planets and you picked up missions. I dont remember what the win conditions were, but I remember I had a lot of fun with it.

  • Man, I really hope something comes of this, but I'm not that optimistic. If it ends up being nothing and they settle or something, it's just going to give him and his people so much ammo going into the election season.
