KMC has always been my go-to for chains and links, but I've never heard of Wippermann: How many years have you been using them?

Tern is good but I would also add Priority and Zizzo as options: They both have good service and are around in the states.

I ride a Priority Folder myself and like the belt/hub setup because it's ridiculously low maintenance and DGAF about rain. My post rain ride ritual with that bike is just getting off the bike lol, no wiping, oiling, waxing, or anything.

Just go to bed at 7 pm, get up at at 2 am, and end up with calves that can crack walnuts!

You'd probably be in fantastic shape though!

It would also slow if companies were told insane lies about the capability of "AI" ("it's living having a team of PHD level experts at your disposal!") and then companies realized that many of these promises were total bullshit.

My Portola goes down stairs no problem, up is a bit more challenging.

You could always get a folding bicycle though, I just grab mine and walk up/down stairs normally

I'd be leery of community helmets for a whole host of reasons, but I'd probably also bring my old folding bike instead of renting something.

I saw someone take out two people on a rental scooter the other day. She was hauling ass down a hill, no helmet, and pretty much ran into a crowd. She was probably late teens, no helmet or pads, and apparently no awareness.

I think they are referring to electric fat bikes?

Seems a little odd that they're targeting non-electric fatbikes since they're slower than something like a roadbike. Never heard of anyone hauling ass on a sidewalk and smashing into someone with a Surly Moonlander.

How about have a robust social safety net and living wages so people can afford to have families and get them healthcare when they need it? Huh? How about doing that???

Also, 10 minutes is a lot of time (and likely a lot of cutting wheels, which the thief may run out of) but ultimately, there is no fool proof anti-theft setup. It's all about delay and deterrence: If you ride in high theft areas you should have layers of defense ranging from good locks to alarms and trackers as well as doing other things like riding beater bikes or making your bike look like a beater, locking up in areas that it's harder to steal from, removing parts/bags when you leave, using security bolts, etc.

The best thing I've found is folding your bike up and taking it with you but that's not always possible even with something like a Brompton.
