Somebody has made an affordable, good quality wireless finger trackball - Review of Nulea m505/m505b
  • I’ve been using trackballs for over 20 years and much prefer them to mice for work (I do use a mouse for gaming though). After my MS Trackball explorer died, I went through a few others, and currently use an Elecom Huge as my main trackball, which is quite good.

This looks a lot like a clone of the MS trackball explorer, though, which I LOVED….I may need to pick one up.

  • Recent updates have issues with collapsing comments

Basically title. I’m finding the last day or so that sometimes comments will only partially collapse leaving several children behind.

  • It’s easy to stay in track limits, you just need to take the corners a little slower. That’s the whole point. If they keep enforcing it like this, the drivers will adjust and stop pushing those corners that hard.

  • Visiting the US soon - do I really have to tip?
  • The simple rule of thumb is: if you are in a full service sit down restaurant (waiter takes order and then brings you your food, tipping is expected, and not doing so is seen as a major dick move, because it directly stiffs the waitstaff. The only time you should not tip in this situation is if the service is absolutely horrible.

Any other situation, like ordering at a counter and then going to get your food, or any fast food, tipping may be offered as an ask on the kiosk, but it’s never expected (not in my opinion deserved.).

But simply: if you are waited on, too 20% and be done with it.

  • Improved feed view, image preloading, and more UI improvements coming tonight
  • With the latest version, my comment collapsing has gone completely wonky. Can’t tap to collapse and expand any more. A very slight swipe right to left seems to collapse most of the time, but I can’t find any way to so sister my expand. Would much rather have the old tap to collapse.

  • Working on a native iOS app for Lemmy. Finally far enough along to share some teasers. Post your feature requests!
  • Mlem is Ok, but still lacks way too man QOL features. I found Memmy as well, which is a bit newer, but also seems to be way more polished already, and the dev does updates almost daily. Already has listed communities, search, a working feed that doesn’t duplicate, and blurred NSFW.

  • Dispelling the myth of a universal "Lemmy" community, and discussion of what the fediverse really is
  • Yep. I have accounts on three instances, but I had been using my Lemmy.World one the most, and then suddenly my beehaw communities are gone. It’s not a huge deal given that these accounts are so young, but it was still annoying. These sorts of things will prevent Lemmy from growing as an overall community.

  • current lemmy status
  • Not to mention that even after you do the essay, it takes forever to get approval on a lot of places. I signed up on lemmy.one first, and couldn't log in for a long time...then signed up at beehaw.org. My lemmy.one account finally became active yesterday, while my beehaw.org one still hasn't been activated, and it's been 3 days.
