  • Can't read and won't send article because of the popup, but neat. And thanks for the essential text.

Omena is apple in Finnish. Lots of people immigrated to the American north from here once upon a time. Why? Gluttons for punishment, I guess. Or hoping for more peace and quiet. Anyway, funny if that was the cause of the name.

  • A few ideas to consider in this kind of situation:

If you watch broadcast TV, consider stopping. Is it really of any use? Could your time have better uses? Maybe you'll never need that ad stream.

If all you need is a display for console/computer/media box, get a display instead. No tuner, no networking, no ads.

  • I can think of one nightmare. It evolved into a mgs/silent hill mashup of a sort with me sneaking around corridors and hearing slow footsteps dragging something.

When it got to the sound being right behind a door, I somehow noped out and woke up. In hindsight it might have been interesting to see more.

Most others, no way in hell.

  • Because I've only ever seen two common sizes of oven. 50 and 60 cm. Just like all kitchen furniture. And the sheets and grids all match the oven and slide on the rails at the sides. But apparently somewhere in the world there's problems. Also somewhere there's gas in common use. Maybe it's related, maybe it's not. That's why I was wondering.

I can see bread and pie pans being obviously smaller but the actual oven parts? That just makes no sense.

  • Don't really know about the legislation wherever, but usually it's quite possible to trade part ownership in companies even if they're not publicly traded. That's what most companies in the world are like. I know I've owned unlisted stock.
