I don’t think reddit had a particularly nice beginning either. Everyone was using reddit just the same. The sheer amount of users pushed a lot of the bad stuff into to corners of reddit. I don’t know the history of lemmy but i am sure the crush of new users will do the same here.

So the article states that spez has made this decision in order to prevent/capture ai from taking data from his business for free. So to monetize reditor work to train AI models, and provide data. I am sure that there is an EULA out there that says reddit owns your contributions on the plate form. But ultimately that will be for the content creators to decide on if they want to participate in that, especially considering that they threw the baby out with the bath water if they didn’t intend to target this party apps.

Well it’s not that surprising a decision. Game studios are perpetually stuck in an arms race. If they made a game that looked like Skyrim but was more compact, faster, bugless, and allowed variable frame rates… would they get anywhere near as much attention?

This is pretty quintessential Kojima. I enjoyed my time with it. In classic Kojima fashion it goes further off the rails the longer it goes. But thats ok if the train starts off the rails in the first place

There are some things i recognize like news and such. Reddit was so ubiquitous that if i had a problem with just about any game i could find a subreddit. Here i am not at all sure how making federations or threads work. And things are still a little sparse. I am connected to beehaw. If i connect to another group will i see completely new communities or recreations of the standard ones?
