What actions are you using to prevent or prepare for climate change for yourself or community? Let’s learn from each other
  • Looking out and voting for politicians and policies focusing on sustainability and better transportation infrastructure. Research companies that are inventing new ways to be less dependent on fossil fuels. Watch out for companies that greenwash and don’t truly take action about their climate incentives.

The small things I do in my life is walk to the grocery store rather than drive. I am lucky enough to live near one.

I have not purchased any fast fashion in years.

I try to avoid plastic packaging and reuse plastic bags or bring my own bags for shopping.

  • Struggling to get into Lemmy
  • I remember finding out about Reddit in 2009, and I thought the interface was horrific, clunky, and hard to navigate. It was like walls of text. No avatars or fancy awards available yet. Didn’t really warm up to it until 2011.

  • Struggling to get into Lemmy
  • Yes could not stand the constant barrage of dumb front page news with posts similar to “Trump did not pay for dinner during his press conference!!! And posts raging about random tweets.

  • *Permanently Deleted*
  • I have been on Reddit for 12 years (since 2011). Reddit has been going down the toilet. I even thought about selling my account for $10. I will miss my subs, but it’s not enough for me to check Reddit anymore.

  • Guide to the neurotypical brain?
  • Others may have better recommendations, but can’t truly recommend books about coping or masking. Guidebooks, while informative, did not work for me.

One of the books called Taking Charge of Adult ADHD by russel barkley, a clinical psychologist, who had done research on adhd was okay, but I would recommend reading it objectively. The information felt outdated and it may not apply to everyone with adhd. Driven to distraction was okay too.

  • TL;DR, Big anxiety when job hunting, advice?
  • Can’t give you much career advice because not sure about industry and don’t know what could be happening in your interview.

For mental health, my advice is not put yourself down in spite of the rejections. Easier said than done I know. Humans want to be accepted and rejection deteriorates our self-confidence. It’s understandable your mental health will be affected.

With that said, anxiety and worry won’t help you ace these interviews rather it would make you feel powerless. Anxiety is like self-protection and we may try to protect ourselves from disappointment and disaster. What the main focus would be is to prepare for these interviews, and try not to expect you got the job. Don’t even think about what ifs. After the interview, move on to the next job application. Try to keep your mind busy. This mindset takes practice for people who give a shit basically.
