So Angry!
  • One of the things you could do is calculate towards understandable numbers. Per tax payer in Britain (32 million) it would cost ~1150 for that first item on the list. Imagine the amount of dinghies you can buy per person for the lot of these. Billion just isn't that magnitude to most people.

  • TF2 steam reviews are now down to mostly negative in the past 30 days
  • On paper all bots act the same? What does that even mean? Adding just a bit of randomness to the code, different hardware and the massive amount of permutations a 3D game offers and I'd like to see you try. First bots were really stupid, but with detection evolving so have the bots and cheats. There is one way to reliably get all of the cheaters: accept a lot of collateral, i.e. non cheaters getting banned.

  • Women should give up vaping if they want to get pregnant, study suggests
  • Are we back to the time of not knowing second hand smoke introduces a lot of the same health risks as first hand smoke? Anyone would be able to infer that women that want to get pregnant shouldn't smoke from the proposed headline, but they might think a bit more about their own contributions to the health of others.

  • Another trans candidate in Ohio faces disqualification vote for omitting deadname
  • But the original law still exempts name change by marriage . To me it feels like name changes not on official public record should be the target, as in a deliberate pseudonym. Still, what fits under that umbrella? Your twitter handle, if it isn't your legal name would fit, but no one included that since the law was written.

  • DeSantis spread false info about trans kids healthcare says Judge
  • So you chose culture over their personal choice and you and your kid(s) have to live with the consequences. That's a pretty sad thing that could be prevented by only allowing circumcision to be performed when medically necessary.

  • EU regulator says Apple should be on hook for €14.3 billion tax bill
  • If this becomes precedent and enforced the whole Irish tax dodging method becomes moot, puting Ireland on par with other EU nations. If this is a high enough fine it will have long term ramifications.

The main issue to me is, big companies will find the next best thing and continue with unethical accounting, outside of the EU.

  • No, but the cultural way to celebrate has a lot of consumerism to the point that not having any consumerism seems counter cultural to me. Counter to an aspect of it, at least.

  • [REPOST] You can't continue working from home because you go idle in chat too often
  • One more tip on how to achieve this: start a "Meet now" on teams and change your status to available. Green all day. Bonus is that it also keeps my work laptop out of sleep mode and on VPN when getting a coffee at home.

  • Google execs admit users are ‘not quite happy’ with search experience after Reddit blackouts
  • Current way to search on google for me is: Add reddit to search string, and set data to before may 1st 2023 Copy link suggested by google and change reddit to reveddit or any of the alternatives there

Results will go out of date but maybe this will tide me over until a good lemmy search is up and running.
