It's a Federal program that's intended to end jurisdictional bullshit over support for off-reserve First Nations children, which has been...less than successful.

I hadn't thought of it before, but there are aspects of this description that are similar to "Demons of the Punjab". That was hands-down my favourite Thirteenth Doctor episode, so I'm very intrigued by this one.

There's absolutely no reason to think any show is being made "instead of" another.

Edit: And as Newsome herself stated, this series has not been greenlit. It may not get made at all.

I mentioned in the latest episode discussion that I'm kind of sick of the "does UNIT exist this week" trend of the last 20 years - a Doctor-lite season would be an interesting way to develop a stable Earth status quo, which I would find very refreshing. I don't care about DW continuity that much, but I do wish they'd commit to something long-term.

I don’t recall who has the international streaming rights for the 2005-22 seasons
