Searching for the "most representative" Star Trek episode

  • I think at this point I'd rather see one of the Isa Briones characters, were they to go that route.

Fred's Data cosplay walked right up to the line of silliness for me, but honestly he probably represents a legitimate stage of...Soongvolution.

  • As predicted, it's Captain Rayner's galaxy, and we're all just living in it.

I can see what the various interviews were saying - things are already set up to have a sense of finality, with a strong theme of "moving on" woven throughout just about every character's arc so far.

The "respectful Indiana Jones" vibe is a lot of fun, I hope they can sustain this energy for the rest of the season.

  • Sounds like a real emergency...

  • It doesn't sound like they'd made it very far into the planning stages, if they did any work at all, but I rather liked the positioning of Discovery as Starfleet's "first responders," able to reach emergency hotspots instantaneously.

Alternatively, I'm still hoping for a deeper dive into the galactic politics of the 32nd Century.

  • If they're nominally illegal, and those responsible for upholding the law are working with them, they're not really illegal at all, are they?

  • "Illegal?" DS9's S31 was protected by Starfleet Command. They were completely untouchable.

  • The record will show that I ride for Callum Keith Rennie, but would I say "no" to Victor Garber in Star Trek?

    No, I would not.

  • I liked Resurgence a lot, though it looks a little rough around the edges in places.

  • Who's "we," and why are they so excited at the prospect of reheated leftovers?

  • What jumped out to me is that most of these shots aren't really new - some of them have been circulating for over a year.

  • I was hoping it being in Risa would let me get away with not telegraphing it in the title.

  • Now that you say that, I do remember some speculation to that effect!
