People should force the DNC to make primaries and have the people decide on a candidate.
And here we go again. Once someone from a marginalized group exposes the lack of backbone and the insincerity of you, you attack him personally and suggest him to be part of "the enemy". It is funny in a sad way because this reads exactly like /r/conservative over on reddit, when people challenged the current Trump narrative.
Biden is literally arming a genocide. He was even adamant about his continued support for that. Meanwhile Dems led cities have brutally beaten up peaceful colelge protests and invited fascist MAGA mobs to attack minority students there.
The DNC and Biden do not protect minorities. They are white supremacists with just a bit more moderation to the means they employ, but they will absolutely resort to authoritarian crackdowns if they feel the minorities to step out of line by demanding justice and rights.
In a two party system the only way to "crush" the extreme right is by establishing another party to take the spot in the two party system. And you know what will happen then? The Dems will move from being the far right party with gay rights to being the extreme right party. Because they already are far right by any sensible measure.
I mean all the concerned people could take to the streets right now.
The DNC wants you to believe that all you can do is cast your vote for something every other year and just take the options presented. In that sense they are worse than the Reps who encourage their base to be active for more than just the ballots and it is working.
Especially now the Dems give me huge 1984 vibes in how the individual should handle politics relative to the party.
You let the Democrats gaslighting work on you. Since half a year they make us think, that the only two options are Trump and Biden, when in fact they could have allowed for proper primaries. They could have worked to prop up other candidates as viable alternatives. But they wanted the puppet they can control.
It is not too late to acknowledge Biden to be unfit and put up a different candidate. I have been advocating for this here since months. But instead of acknowledging that there is more real options, the DNC propaganda worked and works hard to limit our thinking to "its either one of them, no looking past the fishbowl".
Biden was never voted because he was Biden. He was voted because he wasn't Trump. Any halfway decent candidate that does not shares Bidens dogmatic support for genocide in Gaza and abusing immigrants can fill this role a hundred times better. Any such candidate could win the election in a landslide.
Pull the emergency brake on the Biden train. The Biden train is going into the abyss.
The identity of the mid is of no consequence at all.
And that is why Trump won in the first place in 2016. This line of thinking does not work. People are rightfully scared of seeing a weak old men being put up to run the most powerful and most dangerous country in the world. And people cannot feel that voting for Biden will be the right choice, because our animal brains rightfully demand a leader to have the qualities of a leader.
What are you talking about? There is certain demands to the health, to the intelligence, to the eloquence and charisma of a president. Biden showed little of it in the debate.
If he has a stutter, which i don't remember seeing in press conferences a few years back, then it got much worse on the one hand and the strategy for what to say and what not to say on the other hand failed tremendously.
I know one thing about stutters though. How strongly it shows is often directly related to how nervous, scared, agitated or stressed someone is. If Biden is emotionally troubled with dealing with Trump like this, to make his stutter show this extremely, then i don't want him to be in a room with leaders like Putin or Xi, who will just eat him alive.
It showed that Biden is an old men with declining physical and mental health. Anyone watching him in this debate and the many occasions in the last year where he was blitzed out, recognizes that.
Biden is unfit for office. Trump is unfit for office. Anyone riding the Biden train now and blocking the pulling of the emergency brakes is riding this train into the abyss. And that is what helps Trump and the Reps the most.
"We had the best administration ever." "The economy was great. He destroyed it all." "We have the worst economy now." "He is the worst president." "We will make America great again." "It is the millions of immigrants."
It is the exact same rhetoric like in 2016 and 2020 and during all of his presidency. Trump is the greatest the others are the worst, blame the immigrants and claim the other side to be unpatriotic.
Trump was sometimes even addressing Biden directly with "Joe what are you doing?". And in the end the only topic were Biden sought the confrontation was on who of them is the better golfer, which only made him look more detached from the people. He would have needed to attack Trump, provoke him, expose his lies in a way where he is stumbling over his contradictions. If he was rhetorically smart about it, Biden could have overplayed his poor health.
This definitely is dementia. I know it from my own family. Especially with people having good days and bad days. The talk now about how Biden just had a bad day, is just reinforcing it.
Trump was showing what it looks like to "just be" "fucking old". Probably by the time he is Bidens age he will be equally far demented, but he is three years younger. There is absolutely no way that Biden won't be a complete vegetable in the last year of the upcoming term and for Trump it is a pretty solid risk.
The DNC needs to switch out Biden now. They should have done it many months ago, but the denial and delusion about Bidens health are going to help make Trump win this one.

Also Biden isn't just having a stutter. It was clear he lost his train of thought multiple times, like destroying medicaid, constantly mixing thousands, millions, billions and trillions or his talk about abortion trimesters.
This sounded like they gave him elaborate sentences to remember beforehand and he butchered them all, because of not learning them by heart and not fully grasping what they actually mean.
Meanwhile Trump was just doing Trump and Biden came wholly unprepared for that. Repeating what Trump said with "the idea that ... is ridiculous" is just repeating what he said, further giving it agency. How could they be unprepared for Trump being Trump after 8 years of him already?
This is a terrible sentiment. You need a team and you need someone to lead that team. Having the leader just be a puppet is terrible.
You'll get a dysfunctional cabinet this way, you will get grifting, taking advantage of the puppet showing his face to bad ideas and you will get foreign influence prying on the weak puppet president.
And even if the president is not a puppet and "only weak". We have a government falling apart and in deadlock because of our chancellor being a weak leader in Germany. The only thing holding them together at this point is the fear of them losing power sooner in an early election. All it does is give even further rise to the fascists.
You need a competent leader at the head of the cabinet. And that starts with her or him having their mental capacity.

Uhm yes? That is the entire point. It is a stressfull job and you need to be at full mental and sufficient physical capacity to handle it. Biden showed that he is not up to it anymore. Trump also is starting to show signs of decline, but he is further ahead of the curve than Biden is.
Either candidate is unfit for office, but for Biden health is the crucial issue. And old age is not something you can recover from. Just statistically it is entirely reasonable to expect either one of them to die in office.
This is a terrible sentiment. Yes, no leader can do things by himself. But he needs to be present. He needs to understand what is going on. He needs to be able to resolve conflicts and make decisions. And he needs to smell it, if someone is trying to sell him bullshit.
Do you think the administration is just all great teamplayers who have no agendas of their own, who have no conflicts or problematic histories with each other? Of course not.
Think of it like any team sports team. You cannot win the superbowl or champions league with a bad trainer.
People acting as if Trump or Biden would run the show.
So in other words, you think the president should be a puppet? Because that is the implication of responding to "dude is unfit for the office" with "well he is not running it anyways, he's just the face."
I don't know of a single country run by a puppet that was run well. What you get instead is all the worst people to take advantage to put their personal benefit in, since it's not their face associated with it.
Also internationally it is very very very bad to be run by a puppet. Nobody will take the puppet serious and everyone will again seek to put their own interests in. We already see that with Israel playing Biden like a fiddle.
USA only started selling weapons to Israel in the 1960’s, and initially only defensive weapons.
Leaving aside the fact that the 1960s are 60 years ago, the patriot system is there to shoot down missiles, drones and maybe approaching fighter jets. It is a "defensive weapon".
It is an enemy of the world. With all its imperfections the UN with the ICJ and ICC were the best development we had towards a rule based international order, where diplomacy and cooperation could be a counterbalance to barbarism and the rule of the jungle.
Now Israel is making it abundantly clear, that all of this is worthless, while dragging the West down morally and ethically and on top of all of this actively attacking those institutions.
Israel wants the world to devolve into barbarism and the US, Germany, UK and other supporters are actively cheering it on with their actions, while providing transparent words of "hmm. we need peace and stuff." while delivering even more weapons and preventing yet another diplomatic solution.
How unfortunate. Whenever the Israelis want to go on a field trip the weather forecast predicts storms of bullets and pilars of smoke blocking the sun out. Those guys are really unlucky.
If only there was some way for the largest military power in the world to make a country of 7 million not interfer with its humanitarian operations. Well i guess the only thing they can do is send the small nation even more weapons to genocide evne more innocent civillians.

Statt sich klar gegen Israel- und Judenhass zu stellen, werden Uni-Besetzer zu Opfern gemacht und Gewalt verharmlost“, sagte die FDP-Politikerin. „Dass es sich bei den Unterstützern um Lehrende handelt, ist eine neue Qualität. Gerade sie müssen auf dem Boden des Grundgesetzes stehen“, sagte die Ministerin weiter.
Ähnlich äußerte sich Berlins Regierender Bürgermeister Kai Wegner (CDU): „Für die Verfasser dieses Pamphlets habe ich überhaupt kein Verständnis.“ Antisemitismus sei keine Meinungsäußerung, sondern eine Straftat.
Lehrkräfte sprechen von „Polizeigewalt“
Nachdem am Dienstag eine pro-palästinensische Protestaktion auf dem Gelände der Freien Universität Berlin von der geräumt wurde, solidarisieren sich Lehrkräfte der Berliner Universitäten mit den Protestierern. In einem öffentlichen Statement sprechen sich die Unterzeichner gegen den Polizeieinsatz aus, unabhängig davon, ob sie die Forderungen der Protestierenden unterstützten oder nicht.
Es entspreche dem Selbstverständnis der Lehrkräfte, Studenten auf Augenhöhe zu begegnen und sie „in keinem Fall Polizeigewalt auszuliefern“. Das Präsidium der Freien Universität habe den Protest ohne „vorangehendes Gesprächsangebot polizeilich räumen lassen“ und so seine Pflicht verletzt, eine gewaltfreie und auf Dialog basierende Lösung anzustreben.
Präsident Ziegler: Sicherheit sei gefährdet gewesen
Diese Entscheidung begründet ein Sprecher des Universitätspräsidenten Günter M. Ziegler auf eine Anfrage dieser Redaktion hin dahingehend, dass die Protestierenden von vornherein nicht zu Dialog bereit gewesen seien. Außerdem sei es zu antisemitischen und diskriminierenden Äußerungen und Sachbeschädigung gekommen.
Die Brandmeldeanlage sei beschädigt worden und so die Sicherheit der Mitglieder der Universität nicht mehr gewährleistet gewesen. Daher hätte man den Lehrbetrieb am Dienstag eingestellt, so der Sprecher. Auch die Polizei habe man aus Sicherheitsgründen gerufen. ** Lehrkräfte fordern, „von strafrechtlicher Verfolgung abzusehen“**
Der Campus als Raum der kritischen Öffentlichkeit sei zu schützen, schreiben dagegen die Unterzeichner des offenen Briefs. „Wir fordern die Berliner Universitätsleitungen auf, von Polizeieinsätzen gegen ihre eigenen Studierenden ebenso wie von weiterer strafrechtlicher Verfolgung abzusehen“, heißt es in dem Statement.
Auch aus juristischer Perspektive sei das Hausrecht der Freien Universität durch die Versammlungsfreiheit beschränkt, da es sich um einen für öffentliche Aufgaben bestimmten Ort handele.
Hintergrund: Rafah-Offensive und Gaza-Krieg
Hintergrund des Protests war die beginnende Offensive des israelischen Militärs in der Stadt Rafah im Gaza-Krieg. Aufgrund der Offensive und der sich verschlechternden humanitären Lage im Gazastreifen „sollte die Dringlichkeit des Anliegens der Protestierenden auch für jene nachvollziehbar sein, die nicht alle konkrete Forderungen teilen oder die gewählte Aktionsform für nicht geeignet halten“, schreiben die Lehrkräfte in ihrem Statement.
Die Liste der Unterzeichnenden ist lang. Neben 182 Mitglieder Berliner Universitäten und Forschungsinstitute sind Stand Mittwoch unter „Weitere Unterstützer:innen“ noch einmal 222 Lehrende anderer deutscher und europäischer Universitäten aufgeführt.
Auch AStA und Hochschulgruppen verurteilen Polizeieinsatz
Auch der AStA der Freien Universität und Hochschulgruppen, etwa der juristischen Fakultät, verurteilten in eigenen Statements den Polizeieinsatz und die Entscheidung der Universitätsleitung, die Polizei auf den Campus zu rufen.
Die Protestaktion am Dienstag fand im „Theaterhof“ der Rost- und Silberlaube der Freien Universität an der Habelschwerdter Allee statt. Etwa 150 Protestierende waren nach Angaben der Polizei beteiligt und hatten den Hof mit Zelten und Bänken besetzt und Transparente mit Schriftzügen entrollt.
200 Einsatzkräfte der Polizei räumten die Versammlung am Nachmittag auf Bitten der Universitätsleitung. Dabei setzten sie Reizgas gegen die Studierenden ein. Strafanzeigen wegen Hausfriedensbruch, Widerstand gegen Vollstreckungsbeamte und des Verdachts auf Volksverhetzung wurden gestellt und Hausverbote erteilt. Insgesamt wurden bei dem Einsatz laut Polizei 79 Personen festgenommen und deren Identitäten festgestellt. Zusätzlich wurden 80 Strafermittlungsverfahren und 79 Ordnungswidrigkeitenverfahren eingeleitet.
Das Jugendamt Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg wirft Mitarbeiter*innen des Trägervereins unter anderem vor privat »antisemitische und antizionistische Aussagen« getroffen zu haben.
Nur zwei Stunden nach Beginn hatte die Polizei den umstrittenen „Palästina-Kongress“ aufgelöst. Über das Vorgehen tobt der Streit nun im Netz.
