Are adults really not supposed to financially helps their old parents?
  • My father is unemployed and early 60s old. Good luck finding job like that in a bankrupt corrupt Latin country. And he grew up dirt poor, started working at age 8. From carrying bricks and making them, delivering food on foot made by his mom, to 2nd hand construction, to janitor to security - stewart in a casino, He's not lazy, is just his reality.

  • Same in Italy, my mom doesn't want to live here and get older here, her money is invested in our country and wants to retire there, even though Italy is a much safer and stable country (I mean is not, but it's almost good in comparison to Latin America)

I've seen clip of that financial advice show "The Ramsey show" on YouTube and the things that old man say are shocking to me. According to him I shouldn't give a single cent to my parents... That's so against my culture. I would be seen as downright evil if I do that.

Hell I'm unemployed for like a year by now and still sent 200 euro a few months ago to my father that still lives in my home country that I haven't seen in 17 years.

Are you really Americans like that? Don't get me wrong, I don't see it as cold hearted but I see it as unnatural, and I'M a "socialess" cold person in essence.

Who else is an adult that still lives with their family?
  • I live in the middle of nowhere when rent is less expensive. The car is my uncles car, he can drive but he's buying a new one and here some immigrants drive without license probably because it's expensive and or don't have the documents or can't pass the theory exam.

    I'm not eligible for welfare.

  • Bus? What bus? We only have one car and they don't have a license either, also that's probably a US thing. Nobody is going to offer you a place for a warehouse job here. I can't live alone and a warehouse job usually pays only 1k X month. Nobody can pay rent plus bills and food like that alone.

I can't imagine leaving this place. I don't have any money, and I hate having fights and following rules in my family apartment but I just can't survive alone and rent a place especially since I can't divide the bills with anyone. I'm paying the electricity bills and stuff but it's getting harder especially without a job.

Also my family is renting the house, we don't really own a place in this country. But that's the reality we live.

[Serious] What should every young person do?
  • As a virgin, If you had an opportunity to get laid (safely) with someone you at the very least don't have negative feelings and you consider it more than average, do it. Otherwise you could regret passing in.
